- IE6&Outlook >> Spam Messages - From: NamesI receive a lot of spam where the From line is a person's name, e.g.. john
smith, w/o the @ part of email addresses. Some of the names don't even read
like real names but they are two word entries. I don't see any kind of
filter in OE 6 that would allow me to stop the email that comes in with
names only in the From line. Have I overlooked a tool here?
Thanks

- Outlook General >> Sync Outlook with Hand HeldWhen Syncing my hand held with outlook it seems that outlook over rides the
fields that have been changed and puts the old information back. Is there a
way to sync a hand held with outlook so if the data has been updated it
updates those fields in outlook?
Also vise versa if I have updated the fields in outlook and I sync it to my
palm is there a way to make sure the changed fields show up on the palm. I
know this is how it is supposed to work, but for some reason it is not
working correctly. All updated informatin reverts to old data when the two
are synced.

- Outlook >> Outlook 2002 email filterI am getting about 100 emails every day with some bogus update from
Microsoft. My problem lies with the rules wizard. The rules description
must use the word "and" instead of "or" when looking for word filters in the
message. So, if I tell it to filter the word Microsoft, that word must
appear in the senders address, subject and body.
Help - Thanks.

- Outlook >> This has EVERYTHING to do with the recent microsoft updateI installed the damn thing today and after system reboot my Outlook
2007 lost both the ability to connect to an Exchange server and send/
receive on POP accounts. This is outrageous!!!!!!!!!!
I installed 3 updates today:Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack
1 (KB110806); Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 1 (KB929300);
and finally the 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 1 (SP1). Now
I may be wrong, but this SP1 is probably the one causing the problem.
Microsoft, learn to make patches that work and don't ruin
things!!!!!!!!

- Outlook General >> Reply/Forward Font Problem OL2003I have a strange problem on only one computer. When the user clicks Reply
or Forward on a message, Outlook 2003 opens a message box normally but the
fonts (both for the text of the received message and the default text of his
outgoing message) are very small (probably about 2 point). All of the
settings in Outlook and Word (Word is the e-mail editor) show 12 pt. Arial
as the font to use for Replies and Forwards. I have changed this setting to
a different font and different size, but the problem remains. The
Stationery settings are set to use his fonts when replying and forwarding.
The problem does not exist for creating a new message; only replying and
forwarding an existing message. Everything was fine until about a week ago.
I have been through the settings with a fine-toothed comb and everything is
exactly as it was originally setup. I have repaired and reinstalled Outlook
and the problem remains. I have NOT uninstalled completely and reinstalled.
I'm hoping I don't have to do that.
Any ideas?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks. James

- Outlook >> Outlook: from Exchange to stand alone versionSetup: Dell PowerEdge 600SC server with Microsoft Exchange and Windows 2000
Server. Desktops running XP and Outlook 2003 (part of MS Office 2003 Basic
Edition).
Due to circumstances we will move away from our LAN and Exchange server. So
my OL2003 will become a stand alone version that does not connect to the
Exchange server anymore. (All of my email accounts are POP accounts.)
1. I was wondering if this can be done and how? I tried a couple of searches
in Google but did not really find the answer.
2. Seconldy I have made a checklist and I was hoping for some feedback in
case I left something out?
- export messages using Genie backup and outlook contacts from exchange and
import in stand alone outlook
2003.
- same for outlook message rules
- manually create my POP email accounts in the new outlook 2003 stand alone?
Is there anything else I have to bear in mind?
TIA.

No. Outlook doesn't support importing to a custom form. You'd have to =
write custom code or use a third-party application. See =

- Outlook General >> can not send email 'relay access denied' error 454i am unable to send email from my laptop form either outlook express or
outlook.
i am running xp with sp1. i bought and set up the laptop last week and for a
week or so it has been fine. however yesterday it suddenly stopped allowing
me to send emails. i receive the message below in an email which comes from
the system administrator each time i attempt to send a mail.
454 <my name>: Relay access denied
i do not need to authenticate my smtp server info and have talked to my isp
who say it is a client software problem. indeed they are right because i am
still able to use the same email account from another pc and on that machine
there are no problems sending emails.
all of my email settings are correct in the mail client.
i tried turing off virus checking for outgoing email in norton antivirus
software but that made no difference.
can anyone help??

I know that there is a utilitiy in XP Professional that

Any suggestions and recommendations would be greatly
appreciated.
