- Outlook >> Issues with Canon scanner and e-mailProduct Model: CanoScan LiDE 50
INQUIRY: We are using an LIDE-50 at our office to scan and
e-mail legal papers from our site to the follow-up
investigators. It has worked flawlessly until our IT
folks installed Outlook 2003 on the computers.
Since then, the one-button e-mail option no longer
functions properly. It appears that the scanner fails to
recognize Outlook 2003 as a valid program. It won't offer
the e-mail option of O 2003. At that point it only offers
Outlook Express, which we don't have. We had to revert to
Outlook 2000 for the scanner (or driver or program) to
function. Once that was done, the scanner again offers O
Express or O 2000 as the options. Is this a known issue?
Is there a work-around? We have followed all of Canon's
suggestions to no avail. Anyone???

- Outlook General >> Mysteriously disappearing messagesWhy do emails sent to an "msn.com" address and imported into Outlook 2007
vanish from the Inbox right before my very eyes? How can I prevent this from
happening? Where do the emails go? I don't get it! Obviously, I can't
permit this situation to exist.

- Contact >> Contact information does not appear in address the book in OutlookAfter reinstalling Windows XP Pro + SP2, and Office XP + SP3 on a reformatted
drive, I imported the previously working copy of contacts.pst into Outlook,
where it resides in c:\documents and settings\[name]\local
settings\application data\microsoft\outlook\. Within Outlook, the folder is
evident in the folder list.
I can also see all the contact info in the Outlook contacts view and can
initiate a new email from the contacts view, but I can not access contact
info when starting a new email from the inbox.
I followed the directions exactly as contained in Article ID 287563. At the
first step 3, I cancelled out because "Outlook Address Book" appeared in the
View or Change Existing Directories or Address Books window.
I then verified that "Show this Folder as an e-mail address book" was
checked in the "Properties for your folder name" box (It was checked
previously).
I still can not access the address book when initiating a new email from the
inbox or any other folder of emails.

- Outlook General >> Forwards in Outlook ExpressCan any one answer my question? When I look at my email in the web
based browser, I see one message with a list of forwards in it. I
scroll to the end of the message to see the content. When I download
that same message in Outlook Express, I have to double click on 9
attachments or forwards and open 9 windows to see that same message.
WHY? Can anyone tell me if Outlook Express is capable of opening all
the forwards in one window like the web based program and if so, how
do I configure it to do so.....thanks for your time in advance.

- Outlook Install >> Bug with Outlook in Offline modeHi,
There is a problem with the usage of Outlook in offline mode. There are two
problems:
* If you are in offline mode due to unavailability of connection to server
then even when you get connected no message is given as such and Outlook
continues to be in offline mode.
* Second problem which is more serious is that Outlook seems to be
remembering the Offline mode flag even after reinstall. I reinstalled Outlook
2003 on my machine and even after that it showed me in Offline mode. Why it
has to remember the flag even after reinstall?
Thanks,
Anup Gandhi

- Outlook General >> Hotmail not checking in the backgroundHello,
I've been trying to work out for a while why my hotmail wont check
automatically.. the rest of my email accounts check every 2 minutes, and they
work fine. However, hotmail doesnt until i force it to sync the headers by
opening the folder, or actaully clicking the Send/Recieve button. All the
setttings are there, and as i said it works perfectly when i click the
button, it downloads the entire message, and moves it to the junk mail folder
if its junk (the mail reason why i want it to check in the background) but it
just doesnt check every 2 minutes with the rest of the email.
Im using Outlook 2003 with Windows XP
Thanks for any help.

- IE6&Outlook >> growing toolbar buttonsi have a brand new computer running xp pro and when
outlook express is running the toolbar buttons slowly but
surely get wider and wider until only a few buttons fit
on the screen. The icons aren't changing size the actual
button that the icon is on is growing.
changing icon size to small or large still works but that
doesn't change the size of the button.
closing OE and restarting restores all the buttons to
their normal size..
Any ideas?

- Outlook General >> Outlook Contacts present but no access in email or rulesMy Laptop died but I got my .pst file on another computer. When I installed
Outlook, I put that .pst file as my Personal Folders. I have all the email,
contacts, notes, journals, and calendars.
When selecting Contacts, all my contacts are present.
However, I can't select the "to" and see all my contacts (I can start typing
a name and sometimes it lets me select it). All of my rules don't work
because I put all my regular people who I want to contact me as part of the
rules. The error message says that I don't have any contacts.
Can someone help me. I am exhausted looking for the answer.

- Outlook General >> Check Names questionhello there. When I type the first name of a contact into the to line
or cc or bc line..I have one or 2 names that keep using a old e-mail
address that is not existent any more. For example.. I type joe.. then
the check names adds the rest of his name, but uses an old e-mail
address that has been deleted from the address book and replaced with
a new one. How can I get the "auto check names" to recognize the new
address? Actually I made the change over a year ago. But the check
names has yet to pick up on it.
Outlook 2000 .. Windows XP.. thanks

- Outlook >> Change default 4 NEW APPOINTMENT, ACCEPT, CommentsI get lots of New Appointment requests daily.
After choosing ACCEPT, the question is asked, "
"Do you want to include Comments with your response?"
3 options are given. They are:
- Edit the response before sending
- Send the response now (The Default selected)

How can I CHANGE the DEFAULT Comment option
(which is presently the 2nd choice
"Send the response now ") to a new Default of
the 3rd choice "Don't send a response"?
