- Contact >> Outlook import and list problemsOk heres my dilemma. I have a customer with Outlook 2003 and wanting to
import all addresses from Outlook Express including groups/distribution
lists.
I import all and it works out great, all the emails are where they
should be in the lists BUT when I shut Outlook down and restart it the
emails in the lists all disappear.
Anyone seen this?
Thanx
PS this is NOT on exchange just a stand alone pc.

- Outlook General >> Time StampI am using Outlook 2003 with winows xp proffesional.
When daylight saving came in I put a patch on windows xp and I set Outlook
and my time on the computer to DST.
The problem is my all my appointments in my calendar spread over two days.
To fix this I put my computer time forward one hour then took off DST in
outlook and my computer.
All is well in the calendar but my time on my emails is 1 hour earlier.
Is there a fix?

- IE6&Outlook >> Keeping two copies of OE in sync.I use Outlook Express for checking 5 pop accounts, plus my hotmail account. I
now have a laptop, on which I would also like to be able to check all my email
accounts when I am out.
What I want to be able to do is download my email on either my desktop or
laptop
computer, and have it be resyncronized when I reconnect to my home network.
It's important for me to have all my emails available on either computer.
Does anyone know any way to set this up?

- Outlook >> Junk Mail Filter BrokeI just:
1) Installed MS Office SharePoint Designer 2007;
2) Defragmented the Outlook program hard disk;
One of these things (maybe neither) has caused the Outlook 2003 Junk e-mail
filter to stop working. Now all junk comes into my inbox. I have tried
restarting Outlook and resetting the settings under tools, options. All to
no avail.
Any idea how to fix this? Has anyone else had this happen? It is very odd.
Many thanks!

- Outlook General >> Messages stuck in outboxHi
After having installed Office 2003, I had some initial problems when I tried
to use Word as my default email writer.
So this morning, I installed Office 2003 updates and now I can't send
anything out.
There seems to be no name in the 'from' line and I wonder if this has
anything to do with it.
When I test the account setup and ask Outlook to do a test run, that message
goes out ok.
But when I type a message, in Outlook or Word, that stays in the outbox even
though there are no error windows.
Tried loads of things plus a repair of Office.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

IE6&Outlook >> outlook express always assuming "c:\my documents" for saving attachments
So far as I know, it is not fixed yet. Thanks to other folks on this
forum, here's a tip that helps. Next time you go to save an attachment,
enter the folder you prefer, followed by any number of backslash ( \ )
characters. For example, enter "c:\temp\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" ,minus
the quotes. With each saved attachment, one backslash character will be
chopped off. Just renew the setting when you run out of characters.
Attachments will be saved to c:\temp.

Hi, Keith!
There is another workaround that you might want to try:
instead of saving attachments with the "Save As" command,
use the "SAVE ALL" command.
When you have multiple attachments, and you don't want to save all of them,
keep the CTRL key down and click on any of the attachments that you
don't want to save.
It works on my Windows XP system.
This will spare you the trouble to have to edit the registry on a regular basis.
Cheers,
Robert

Nope. I just figured the other post was so old it wouldn't be seen by
anyone. No harm in making a lot of noise when there's an annoying problem
like this! :)
Thanks for the tip.

- Outlook >> Importing inboxes and addressbooks from networked computers both with OutlookHello,
I just upgraded my computer and currently have my old one and new one networked together.
In all the "import" program options, importing from outlook TO outlook is NOT one of the options.
What's the simplist way to get my address book and e-mail storage folders to my new computer?
Are there specific files I can move to get my address book to the new computer? (where are they,
I've looked!)
Is there a way to syncronize the two computers, so if my wife sends an email on the 'old' one it
would show up in the 'sent' folder of BOTH computers?
Thanks for any and all help,
James

- Outlook >> Synchronize over VPNI currently synchronize my offline folders with Exchange
over a dial up connection. I want to do this over a VPN
connection which automatically dials out to establish a
connection. Here's the problem: In my email profile, I
specify my VPN connection to be used when synchronizing,
however, when I press 'F9', it attempts the VPN without
dialing and of course fails. If I dial before
pressing 'F9', it works fine. Unfortunately this is not
acceptable.

- Outlook >> Embedding ProblemI have searched and searched Google for the answer to this and have
finally given up and decided to just ask the group. I have problem
embedding pictures into my emails from Outlook 2002. Maybe I am just
missing a piece of information, but from what I understand is that in
order for a picture to embedded and not sent as an attachment, you have
to 1)send the email in HTML format, and 2)Not use the option to 'use
word as the editor'. I have made sure those are the options I am
using. I can send a .bmp picture embedded, but .jpg still sends as an
attachment. Any solutions on this? Thanks!
