- IE6&Outlook >> Outlook Express - PC v Mac Transfer ChallengeCan anybody tell me how to transfer messages, contacts etc
from my PC to a Mac? Currently, I have about 10mb on my
Webmail and need to download it to my PC - that's fairly
straight forward. BUT, I then need to transfer the same
to a Mac. Can this be done by simply importing to the
Mac? If not, how do you go about it? Any answers would be
greatly appreciated. Thanx. Pete

- Contact >> Address BookIn Outlook 2003, how do I get the prefix or Title (Mr., Mrs., Dr., etc.) and
suffix (Jr., Sr., etc.) to appear with the first and last name. When I
insert an address from Word, all I get is the first and last name even though
all the information is entered in the proper fields in Contacts?

- Outlook General >> Need help with outlook file size and effect on server 2003I have an office of 26 people using outlook exchange. over half of these
people have between 7,000 and 16,000 messages in their e-mail. the size
range from 750kb to 1,451,350. Is there any documentation that I can use to
show the negative effects (let alone the lack of productivity) of having that
many e-mails?

- Outlook General >> Moving old files to new pcHi
Old computer had Win98 and Office 97 - Outlook Express. Have moved to new
computer with XP Pro and Outlook 2003. 2003 wants .pst files for import - old
version doesn't have that option - just MS Exchange or .cvs file type. I
don't know how to get my old emails and contact uploaded - have searched
various 'help' pages and just not clear what I should be doing. I can only
move them with backup CDs too has have been unable to network as old pc is
too much of a dinosaur!!
any clear, easy to follow steps available??
Thanks

- IE6&Outlook >> errorI have windows 2000 with outlook express 6. I have to identities on this
computer. This is one and this one words as
you can see but the other doesn't seem to work. An error comes up saying
this: Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible
causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period
of inactivity. Account: 'Giuseppe's Email', Server: 'mail.comcast.net',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F.
Now I have the same settings as this identity but I cant seem to get it to
connect. What's the problem and how do I fix?
Thanx

- Outlook >> Rule specifying "From" sender doesn't stop their emailsI can find no explanation anywhere in Microsoft of how rules act upon
incoming email and why some will work right away and some won't, based not on
whether or not the user knows how to set a rule, but rather by the
characteristics of the incoming messages themselves. I suspect that there is
a reason why I can't seem to get rid of certain unsolicited email that I
receive on a daily basis, but I can't find any information to suggest how I
might block them permanently. Specifically, I get spam from an online
greeting site called "Castle Mountain" - I have set rule after rule, but
nothing will stop this particular spammer from getting through and I don't
know why. â??Helpâ?? gives no suggestions on how to deal with spammers who use
randomly generated addresses to get through spam filters. Why can't I just
say that I don't want anything where it says "Castle Mountain" in the "From"
field and have it block them? From what I have read here, it should work,
but I still get this nonsense daily.

- Calendaring >> MS service for sharing calendarAbout a month ago I received an email from MS about a new service allowing
Outlook 2003 users to pay an annual fee which allowed calendar sharing (and
some other features) on the web. Does anyone know where to find this on the
MS site? I've looked to no avail.

- IE6&Outlook >> Warning: MVP.org is not a Microsoft MVP siteThe Microsoft MVPs have a web domain, mvps.org, which contains what
we hope are a lot of useful articles aimed at being of help to users

We have become aware that there is another domain, mvp.org without

- Outlook >> Outlook automationI use VB6 to add/update an appointment in Outlook 2000
for adding there is no problem, but now I want to UPDATE an appointment, how
do I do this ?
I can only find documentation on how to CREATE a new appointment, but not
how to UPDATE an appointment.
Also I have a userproperty in: oAppointment.UserProperties("objectid") =

Now I want to find the appointment that matches this userproperty. How do I
do this ? The "objectid" is a unique value.

- Outlook >> outlook keep on downloading same emails many timesI recently reformated my computer and reinstalled my office
2000. I have a few pop3 email accounts that I have put in
my outlook.
When I check the mail, Outlook keeps on downloading all the
email even I already have a copy retrieved from previous
checking. SO I end up with a few copies of similar emails
in the folder.
Milion dollars question is how I could stop that from
happening?
Please help.

info has changed. When I save the vcard and want to update the info instead
of adding a duplicate I get an error message that this can't be done. I then
have to delete the original contact and then save the new one.
Any ideas why the update is not warking

Calendaring >> Cached Mode
I have a very weird problem with Outlook 2003 either original or SP1 only
when I run in cached mode. There are some calendar entries that do not
appear, but if you login to web outlook or run outlook online (no cached
mode) all entries are there. I tried to reinstall outlook and tried in
different computers with same result.,and is happening with several users.,
my exchange is 2003 sp1 with all patches., any recommendations?

Did you delete the OST and let Outlook rebuild it?

Calendaring >> Cached Mode
Yeap...I think is it not related to the actual OST because the problem is in
different computers and different issues., I think there is a bug in the
outlook 2003 cached mode...

- Outlook General >> Importing Excel 97 into Outlook 98My company uses ACT & I use Outlook 98.
I had my company export a new database from ACT to Excel
so that I could import Excel to Outlook.
I am unable to do anymore than export the Company name and
Contact name...
I cannot get it to bring along the other vital information
such as address, phone, fax, e-mail.
I have tried importing the Excel file as an excel file...
I have also tried saving the excel file as a .csv
(Windows).
What do I need to do to "Name the range of data that I
need to import" ??
Thank You for your help....

- Outlook >> Outlook 2003 keeps asking for password for POP3 accountI am running WinXP Pro and Office 2003. My Outlook 2003
keeps popping up intermittently a pop-up box requesting
me to re-enter the POP3 account password. Now, there is
nothing wrong with the password already entered (check
box to save password), so all i am having to do is click
OK, but it is really annoying. Does anyone know what i
can do to stop Outlook from doing this?
Thanks for your help.

- Calendaring >> appointments showing over two day periodWhen employees enter time off in shared calendar in Month View the time off
shows over two days. They are entering info by clicking on the date in month
and typing rather than creating a New appointment. Is there some way to get
this to show in only one day? We are using Windows XP and Outlook 2003.
Thanks for your help.

- IE6&Outlook >> Odd : Message no longer available?I have just noticed this very recently. It seems odd.
It isn't life threatening, or earth shattering.
I have been on a newsgroup reading down the messages in order.
I go to the next message. Get told message no longer available.
That's odd. It's only a recent message. Anyhow go to next mess.
Next message is available. I go back to the previous message.
Now that message is available again. It's only a trivial annoyance.
I've only had this a few times, and only on the one news group.
Therefore it could be peculiar to the news group?
It could be peculiar to my ISP?
It could be peculiar to my machine?
Any ideas?

- Outlook >> Outlook Express 6 The more I delete the bigger Outlook Express 6 folders getsIn Outlook Express 6 I have many Identities setup.
I have thousands of e-mails dating back years.
The space consumed by all these e-mails is over 2GB
Quite a lot of space.
I decided to delete a lot of unwanted e-mails and clutter to reduce the
amount of space consumed.
But to my my surprise instead of solving the issue it made the overall
size consumed bigger and not small.
It is seems that in Outlook Express 6 the e-mails have gone but in
reality the files are still in the Outlook Express 6 folders.
Can anybody help me with this.

- Outlook General >> Importing .MSG filesThis is somewhat of a programming question, but I'm open to suggestions for
utilities as well.
I have around 40,000 email messages saved in .MSG files on a network. Each
message is in a folder / subflder tree like this:
Average, User/Folder Name/my message.msg
The problem I now have is to try and get all these messages back into their
respective Outlook folders for each user so that our new archiving solution
can archive them.
I would like to make a programmed solution for this, but if there is a
utility around that might do it, I'm open to suggestions. There should be no
user process required here.
Basically, i need to:
read the .MSG file and create a new mail item, then use the MAPI API to get
the users mailbox then create the folder under Inbox if needed, then insert
the message.
I'm fairly sure I can do everything in C# apart from the first bit - read
the MSG file and make it into a mail item in code.
Any ideas?

- Outlook General >> Seperate identitiesHello, cab anyone help please?
I'm using Outlook 2002 on one computer. Two people use the computer to check
their emails.
When one person checks their emails Outlook also downloads other emails for
the second person.
I've looked every where for help on this subject but is there a way of
seperating the identities of each person so that when one person checks for
their emails they cannot check the other persons at the same time?
If so, how do you go about configuring Outlook to do this?
