- Calendaring >> MAJOR Q: Outlook Calendar at startupHello all,
I am new! I have a question about Office 2000 Outlook. The calendar,
email etc. functions are amazing - however - how can I get all my
calendar reminders for appointments etc. while not having outlook open?
Is this even possible? Also, I had Works calendar which had something
called wkcalrem.exe - does this sort of reminder (which loads at
startup and doesn't open the program) exist for Office 2000 Outlook?
Please help!!!
Thanks so much,
RJK

- Outlook General >> .HTMLBody -> Plaintext Problem SolutionDo not set .body anywhere in the function if you can help it. Setting
.htmlbody afterwards does reset the .editortype, but Outlook still
thinks it's being fed plaintext (or a multipart containing plaintext
if you attach something). When this happens, Outlook converts the HTML
of the .htmlbody into a plaintext .body.
If anyone knows how to set the content-type of an Outlook message
using VBA (without CDO), I would like to know.

- Outlook >> Can't copy outlook.ps to external hard driveI am using Office 2003 on Windows XP.
Periodically I copy oulook.ps to an external hard drive as a backup.
When I try to do it now, I get the message "Cannot copy outlook: The
process cannot access the file because another process has locked a
portion of the file."
I have rebooted, but that doesn't fix the problem.
By the way, the outlook.ps is large, slightly over 4 GB.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

- Outlook General >> My form disappeared??Hi
I created a template for one of our "standard requests" so as to ease the
pain of manually typing things up all the time. For some bizarre reason, my
system does not recognise this form this morning...it was working last week.
The same thing happened on another PC I had, so I decided it was time to
upgrade anyway.
All the controls on the form seem to have disappeared - but only on my PC
(at the moment anyway) and all I see is a normal "new mail message" form. A
registry entry to allow "one-off forms" was previously added for another
reason altogether.
Does anyone know why this would happen? I imagine I have an unregistered ocx
or dll somewhere, but I'm not certain...
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

- IE6&Outlook >> Can not open attachmentsI just notiuced that I cannot open most of my
attachments. Even old ones that I have opened on another
computer that I have imported to the a new one.
Some attachments open by themselves, and I can see or
read them. The ones that need to clicked on do not open.
When I double click on the attachment the following
message is there: " OE removed access to the following
unsafe attachment". In one case I had read and opened
the attachment on my ISP server, but could not open it
again after it was downloaded.

Calendaring >> Why can't I publish my whole calendar?
I'm using Outlook 2007 and I'm trying to publish my calendar to Office
Online. When the 'Publish Calendar' dialog box comes up, the Whole Calendar
option under Time Span is disabled. Why is that? I've published my calendar
from my work account just fine.
Can someone tell me why Outlook wouldn't allow me to publish my entire
calendar?
Thanks!

- Outlook >> Outlook Help Needed!!! Need to Recover Contacts and Email.Hi All,
I've had some problems with flaky hardware (either RAM, CPU or MB).
Well the other night the system froze on me and when I was finally
able to reboot Outlook wouldn't start. Since many programs were
affected (the registry was corrupt and a recover didn't work), I got a
new hard disk and started from scratch to rebuild my system. Also
changed CPU.
It is an XP Pro machine with Outlook 2003 (just as the previous
configuration). Now I want to import my contacts, emails, etc. into
the newly created sytems. I can't locate any .PST files on the old
drive. I've unhid files and folder, system files and folders and
still can't find them.
I thought they were normally placed in "C:\Documents and
Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook".
That's where they reside on the new drive. Is it a file other than
.PST that I should be looking for?
Any thoughts on how to recover??? I do have a backup of the drive on
DVD but it is older than I'd like to use.
Thanks,
Hexman

- Outlook >> saving email graphicsI am having a problem saving graphics that were included
in email messages. (I have Outlook 2002).
When I right-click to "save picture as", the only format
it will let me save in is *.bmp. The drop down file
format menu presents no other options. I like to save
the graphics in the format in which they were sent.
(usually gif or jpeg).
I forward the message to my web-based Yahoo account, and
then can save the picture in its original format.
I recently switched from Outlook Express to Outlook
2002. When I used Outlook Express, I didn't have this
problem.
Thanks

- Outlook General >> PLEASE HELP! Outlook 2003 hangs at 11.9 kb when downloading messaI am running xp pro with office 2003 and my recieving of email is getting
frustrating. 95% of the time the statis of my download will stop at 11.9kb
and time out. I have the time out setting at 10min already and I have tried
creating a new .pst file. I am not running exchange server. I have tried
turning off all of my McAfee services with no change. It seems like Outlook
gets stuck in a 127.0.0.1 loop but I can' t find where that can be changed.
All of my account data is good and have tried creating new profiles. I have
posted questions before with no response on this group and my ISP and McAfee
tech support has not been helpful.

- Outlook General >> Open mail message problemHi,
I am having problem opening mail message in outlook, it take longer time to
open even though the mail size is very small, it seems that it is trying to
search for some programs or links before opening the mail. This problem still
persist even I have re-install the entire MS office.
Typically the mail message can be open within split 1-2 seconds, now it
takes about 10 to 15 seconds. I have even disable the word editing function
and it still does not have any effect. I am still using Outlook 2000, via MS
Exchange server
Can anyone help me on this?

- Outlook General >> left margin when display messageWhen I open an email message with format 'Plain Text', the message body is
shown right at the left edge of the dialog box.
When I open a HTML format email message, there is a slight left margin.
Is there anyway I can set this left margin for 'Plain Text' messages as well.
This requirement is not for printout, but for display.

- Outlook General >> Outlook 2003 signatures for replies not workingOkay, this is the second time I have posted this, due to "technical
difficulties".
I recently upgraded from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2003. I don't use Word as
my editor. I had several signatures that worked for New email and for
Replies/Forwards in Outlook 2000. Now, one signature works for New emails but
won't show for Replies/Forwards. I HAVE selected it as the default.
Any ideas as to why it won't work?

- Outlook General >> Message Header and PrintingI have a 2000 machine with Outlook 2003 in HTML format. When the attorney
attaches a document is automatically places an "Attachments" field in the
message header showing the attachments. He then sends the e-mail.
He'll go to his Sent Items folder to print out the e-mail as hard copy
backup that the attachments were sent. The attachments show up in the
message but that field will not print. I've tried editing the form and
selecting the "Print" checkbox in validation and that does not work.
Any idea's why this is?
