transfering newslist files

Outlook387
I am using OE6 in XP Home on both PCs.

I know how to export and import messages from one OE to another on the other

PC. But, how can I transfer my accumulated newslist messages from one PC to

another. In which folder are they kept and can I just copy the files to the

same folder on the other PC?

Re:transfering newslist files

You cannot transfer newsgroup messages from one system to another. They

will not import correctly. The development team, recognizing the transient

nature of news group postings decided not to add that capability. It's much

simpler just to resubscribe and download a token amount of messages, catch

up and then unclick the restriction on downloading only "xxx" number of

messages.

To help make things easier you can export the information about the

newsgroups involved, by using Tools/Accounts, News tab and highlighting each

newsgroup and selecting Export to export the settings information to an IAF

file which you can import into a new system.
