- Outlook General >> Out of Office errorHello All:
I have a user, when she tries to set her OOO she receives the error:
The Out Of Office Assistant could not be displayed. A required action was
not successful due to an unspecified error. The only option at that point is
the OK button. She is running XP SP2 with Office XP Pro SP3. I am sure that
if I rebuild her Outlook profile it will be fine, but I wanted a fix and not
a work around.
Thanks in Advance for your help.

- IE6&Outlook >> Two questions of little importance1. There was a thread in this group started 10-13 whose subject started
with: Bcc:
It was at the end of the message list which was supposedly alphabetical. I
clicked "Subject" a couple of times to change to sort to descending, then
back to ascending, but it kept insisting that the letter "B" followed "W."
It was aligned with other first letters of threads so there was no apparent
reason to me for that odd sequencing.
2. On the NG toolbar there is a "Stop" button, with a circled "X" above the
word. This seems to be always greyed out. What is its purpose and when is it
activated?

- Contact >> Forms and Cache errorsHi,
I am using an advanced CRM program that installas a custom form within
Outlook. When i work offline and then connect to the LAN at a later time, i
get a corrupt form error.
When I clear the form cache and it uploads the new form (CRM form) form it
works fine.
What I need it to do is to upload the new form automatically when I connect
to the LAN.
Can this be automated?

- Outlook General >> Error: Can't find this file. Make sure the path and file name are. When I attempted to send a new message from Microsoft Outlook I receive the
following pop up error message:
******************************
top of pop up: name of program (Microsoft Word)
Error message: "can't find this file. Make sure the path and filename are
correct."
Bottom of pop up: OK
*********************************
the pop up will often "hide" behind Microsoft Outlook and at times is
inaccessible requiring that I reset the machine in order to continue to
operate.
This has only recently started happening so I suspect that the registry has
been corrupted. I have attempted a detect and repair of both Microsoft Word
and Outlook and I have uninstalled office XP and reinstalled it however the
results are the same.
I am running office XP SP3.
I would appreciate any suggestions as to a solution!

- Contact >> How do I sort names in Address book last name first?I cannot display the contacts in the personal address book as last name,
first name. I have repeated the instructions to change the order of the names
several times
Tools-->Email account-->VIew or change existing directories or address
books-->next-->outlook address book-->change-->contacts:personal
folders-->show names by: file as (Smith, John)-->close-->finish
However, these instructions do not work for the Address book, only the
Contacts. Is there no way to have the Address book sort contacts with last
name and perhaps not repeat the contact names if there are multiple email
addresses for a contact? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

- IE6&Outlook >> Adding new email IDsI am currently using two email IDs nad they work very well. When I attempt
to add the third one, after going through the "server" set up routine, the
thing starts all over again as iff I had input nothing. If I follow along
witht the second request for "server" info then I end up with one normal set
of properties and one set with the added "(1)". Everytime I then try to send
receive message from that new ID, I get this box requesting a password. I do
not want nor did I tel Ooutlook that I wanted to use a password.
Any thoughts?

- Contact >> Adding contact to distribution listIf I have a contact open (i.e. I'm editing a contact) - in the bottom right
hand corner there's a button where I can add this contact to a Category. Is
there a similar way to add this contact to a distribution list at the same
time and from this dialog window?
Thanks

the Test Account Settings button, it goes through all the tasks... Establish
network connection Completed; Find outgoing mail server (SMTP) Cpmpleted;

- Outlook Install >> Using Internet Explorer within Outlook 2003.When opening my home page, using IE from within Outlook 2003, I receive
"unexpected script errors" as the page loads. How can I prevent this or work
around this from within Outlook. I have disabled "script debugging" from
internet options advanced settings in IE, but this fix has no effect on the
explorer that is running within Outlook. Are there similar settings within
Outlook?

Ask Compuserve. They should be able to tell you how to connect to their
servers with Outlook, if it's possible.

- Outlook General >> Outlook should filter subdomains of safe/blocked sendersWhen I add a domain to the Junk mail safe or blocked senders lists, outlook
should filter any subdomains too.
For example if I choose to block or accept: somecompany.com
Then mail from: someone@somewhere.somecompany.com should also be blocked or
accepted respectively. At the moment it doesn't appear that this is the case.

The addressess would receive the email but be unable to see who else I had
emailed or their e-mail address.

- Outlook General >> arrange by groupsThis is a default setting in OUtlook2003. Is there any one on this planet who
knows how to de-select this for all folders in the mailbox/personal folder.
We migrated from Office XP to 2003 and its a hell of a job to de-select this
option for all folders, and sub folders, and sub sub folders and sub sub sub
folders if you get my drift.
This will be very wel appreciated.

- Outlook >> Detect & Repair Missing / Address Autocomplete not workingI have Outlook 2003 with XP Pro /SP1. System originally had a version
of Outlook 2000 which I uninstalled and then installed Outlook 2003.
During OL2003 install I selected Upgrade (probably should not have).
Anyway, I now have a couple of issues (1) Detect & Repair is missing
off of Help menu, and (2) the address autocomplete feature does not
work even though "Automatic name checking" and "Suggest names while
completing To, Cc, and Bcc fields" are both checked. I also searched
and did not find the .nk2 file
Appreciate any help!
PS: I went to Control Panel -> Add or Remove programs -> Selected
Outlook 2003 -> Change -> Reinstall or Repair, but this did not
correct either of these problems.

- IE6&Outlook >> Recovering Emails from Outlook Express filesHi,
Unfortunately I made backup copies only of my Outlook 6 files (.dbx
extension I think) before I reformatted by PC to clean it up. I know now
that I should have used the "export" function.
Now when I try to read these email files (there is 1 file for each email
folder), OE6 says no files found. Is there any way I can recover my emails,
given that the data files are there.
Regards...

- Outlook Install >> WGPOCPL.CPL and XPI'm still running Microsoft Mail because I like the Netfolder Calendar
sharing that Outlook 2000 offers, in spite of its limitations. I've
still got a couple of machines that run Win2k, but I'm slowly replacing
them with XP machines. I copied the WGPOCPL.CPL and WGPOADMN.DLL files
from one of the Win2k machine and installed them in the Windows\System32
folder of an XP machine, but when I go to run the MS Mail applet on the
XP machine, it accepts the Post Office username and password and then exits.
I see there is an old post here from 2001 with this behavior, but no
response.
Any ideas as to why it doesn't work?
Thanks,

- Calendaring >> Private Note option for Meeting Organizer directly Calander eventI use Outlook 2003
Outlook should allow the Meeting Organizer to type private notes directly
into the Message event in the calendar. These notes should not be included
with Invites or Meeting Updates.
Example: In a recurring meeting every Wednesday, Jesse writes back and says,
"I will be late on the 12th" which is three weeks out. The meeting organizer
should be able to make notes regarding this without announcing to the group
that Jesse is going to be late.
