- Calendaring >> Trouble Receiving iCalendar Messages using Outlook 2002/XP (10.4608.4219 SP-2) under WinXP Pro)I have successfully sent Contact cards as vCards for years (using Actions |
Forward as vCard). However, I've had no such success forwarding iCalendar
cards. I AM able to send them from this computer without a hitch. However,
when they arrive on another computer which is also running WinXP Pro and
Outlook 2002/XP (10.4712.4219) SP-2), the iCalendar cards cannot be opened
and saved. When the recipient opens the e-mail containing the iCalendar
card and tries to open the iCalendar card by double-clicking the calendar
icon, a Microsoft Outlook error message pops up stating: "cannot import
vCalendar file. Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter
values are not valid."
It's interesting to note that the selection on the Actions menu to send a
copy of a calendar item refers to it as an iCalendar card, yet the error
message on the receiving end refers to it as a vCalendar card.
How can I succeed in sending individual appointments from my calendar on
this computer to other computers?
I look forward to your response. I shall greatly appreciate your help.

- Outlook General >> Problem attaching zip filesIn Outlook I am having a problem adding a zip file attachment to an Email
message.
I click on the paper clip which opens an Explorer type window of my folders,
browse to the required folder and can see there a list of all the files -
except that all files with zip extensions are not shown. They are there - I
can see them in Explorer - but not in the Outlook attach files window.
To add a zip attachment I am having to drag and drop the file from Explorer
to the Outlook paperclip.
Am I doing something wrong ?

- IE6&Outlook >> Inactive or dead hyperlinksOS= W2k (SP4)
Emails from news sources are coming into my OE 6.0 Inboxs with dead
hyperlinks.
The links are properly highlighted and underlined. Left click does zilch.
Right click gives me a menu with copy shortcut, save target as...,select
all, Add to favorites.
This is the first in years that OE is acting buggy. I turned off my anti
popup & checked for settings. I ran Norton's Win Doctor. My Avast
antivirus is uptodate. I see nothing wrong.
What am I missing. Thanks!

- Outlook Install >> Recovery of emails and contactsHi,
I recently reformatted my HD but forgot to backup my
outlook 2003 email. I used a program and managed to
recover the files from C:\Documents and
Settings\Dan\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook and the files Outlook (64Mb),
archive (265k) and extend.dat (1kb).
1. Are these the files in which the emails are stored in??
2. How do I restore the files to the new installation of
outlook 2003? I tried copying the files and outlook 2003
closes saying it is not my personal folder when it
starts. I tried importing and it says it is not a
personal folder.
Please help as I have important email...
Thanks in advance
Dan

Outlook General >> Rules not working
I set up a rule in Outlook 2003 on my desktop to forward emails received from
a specific email address to another specified email address (the email
address I am forwarding to is on my laptop using outlook express). It is not
working - nothing happens.
(I tried the same thing using outlook express on my laptop and it worked fine)

Outlook General >> Rules not working
This is how it was set up:
from (people or distribution list)
forward it to (people or distribution list)
(I did not use any exceptions)
Turned rule on
Description:
Apply this rule after message arrives
from <email address>
forward it to <email address>
(the actual email addresses are in < >)
Hope this helps; really need to be able to forward messages from a client

Were I doing it, I'd change the condition to "with specific words in the
sender's address" instead of "from"

Though I don't understand why - changing it to specific words in the sender's
address seems to work. Thanks for your help - appreciate it.

I want to set up two different Outlook PST's and have two Outlook icons -
one that will open Outlook with the first PST and one that will open Outlook

be able to have the two instances of Outlook be totally separate from each
other.
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks in advance.

- Outlook >> responding to email on behalf of supervisorI'm trying to find a way to cut down on the amount of email that my boss has
to respond to himself. There are many emails that others in the office could
handle for him. What feature is available within Outlook to let him know that
he would need to respond to email himself. For example, If I open an email
for him, it is no longer in bold type and therefore appears as though the
email has been dealt with. If I open, read and do not respond on his behalf,
I need a way to let him know that he will need to deal with the email. I
tried using flags but he also uses a Treo 650 and flags do not show up. Any
help would be appreciated. Thanks, Shelley

- Contact >> Unable to view recently entered contact...For some reason and on only certain occasions, I cannot
seem to view contact entries. My boss and I share our

before. Apparently, he can see the entry on his end, but
I can't see it on my end though I've just entered it.
I have all permissions necessary, but sometimes I
encounter this problem.
Does it have to do with him being on Outlook at the same
time as me?
Thanks!
