- Outlook Install >> Error 1608 Office XP Professional UpgradeI am trying to move my Office XP Professional on a New PC
w/ an XP OS.
Step 1) I install Office XP Standard - No Problems
Step 2) I try to install the Office XP Professional
Upgrade - Problems ... I enter the Key and I get Error
1608 Setup was unable to locate a qualifying Product.
Step 3) According to support I should put standard disk
in the CD/E drive, choose that drive and hit OK.
Problem - I get the 1608 error again and setup is closed.
AHHHHH
Note: The PC I am moving from is NT and the install
worked fine there.
If anyone has a clue please let me know.
Thanks,
Brad

- Outlook >> PST File missingMy system crashed. I had copied my "C" drive to another logical drive and

- Outlook >> another computer using my emailHelp. Have tried internet company, but getting nowhere.
Have been flooded with failed mail deliveries that I
didn't send. Msg says couldn't send because of virus
attached and other reasons. Some show my address
as "envelope". Appears someone using my email as
a "reply to address." Being returned to me, but I never
sent, don't know these people.
Have disable 3rd party cookies in explorer. Have cleaned
up temp files. Looked for any type of spyware, but not
sure if that is problem. Only thing I know to do is
change email address.
How can msg be returned to me when I didn't send it in
the first place?

Any help would be appreciated.
I know how to do it on the calendar manually, but hen it does not link to

- Outlook Install >> Lost contactsI just installed Outlook 2003 on a new machine and chnaged the data store
from the default to a saved Personal Folders file from an old machine with
O2003. The messages, calendar, and contacts are all there but when I create
mail none of the contacts appear in the available list of names. In fact,
the list of names is empty. Presumably I have to tell Outlook to use my
Contacts folder when sending e-mail. How do I do this?
Many thanks.

- Outlook >> Images do not print when printing multiple messagesMy Outlook 2003 started having a problem. I am using it under Windows
2000.
I used to be able to select several messages and hit the print button
to have them all print. This morning I tried doing that, but all the
messages printed without the images, just the text instead of the
pictures.
Everything prints fine if I just select one message at a time.
Anybody have this before?

- Outlook General >> Expression Web Spell Checking brokenMy installation of Expression Web can't find the spell checking engine. It
keeps asking for my Office 2000 cd and then complains that data1.msi
contains no source.
I suspect that some registry entry is broken. Spelling etc work fine in
Word etc.
Any suggestions as to how I can reconnect Expression to the existing
spelling engine?

- Contact >> Losing ContactsI have a client who is losing Contacts from Outlook 2000.
My client is on an island near Australia, HotSyncing a
Palm device (I don't know the exact model) with her laptop
and then using a VPN (via internet) to sync with the
Exchange server here in the States. She has lost several
Contacts (including her daughter) over the past few days
and is not happy with her assistant (who is slightly
unhappy with me). If this has been addressed recently, I
apologize, this is a very prolific newsgroup. The server
is Win2000/Exchange, the local PC is Win98 running Outlook
2000 and the remote laptop is WinXP Pro running OfficeXP
Pro. Any help?
Thanks in advance,
Gary

Calendaring >> Backing Up the calender
Justin-
Export your Calendar folder into a .pst file:
File - Import & Export - Export to file - Personal Folder
File .pst
After you save the backup, you will be able to re-open as
a personal folder:
File - Open - Personal Folder File (.pst)

- Outlook General >> restore response buttons on currently-viewed message windowI am using Outlook 2000. In the past, when I was viewing a message in its
own window, I would see response buttons along the top (reply, forward,
etc.). These buttons no longer appear. Any suggestions on how to get these
buttons back (the buttons still appear when I am viewing a folder, just not
when I am looking at an individual message).
Thanks.

- Outlook Install >> distribute Outloook 2003 rulesIs it possible to distribute an Outlook 2003 rule to the entire organization?
All my clients are using Outlook 2003. I have created a rule that I want
everyone use. I exported the rule, but I need all Outlook 2003 clients to
have this rule imported without having to go to each workstation. I have
tried the outlook11.adm template for Group Policy, but there are no options
for distributing rules.
Thanks!

- Outlook >> Shared Task View??We use Outlook 2003 on MS exchange 5.5.
When I create a task view using the field chooser (no custom columns)
then share it to several users, I want them to have the same view as I
have. When they open my taks list they just see the standard view and
not the view I created.
Is there a way to make all shared users see the view I created? I
have about 20 to set up and share and would prefer NOT visiting every
user.
Thanks,

- Outlook General >> imap - deletion and movine messagingIn every other email client when you delete an imap message it is conviently
moved to the imap trash folder and purged from the current view. Can you do
this in Outlook? If not why not? This seems like a very simple option that
you should be able to add in.

- IE6&Outlook >> New Messages in OE arrive as DELETEDHello,
One of my users is encountering a strange problem in OE 6.0. When she gets
new mail, the preview pane displays it as if it is deleted. The message is
not bolded (as a normal unread message is) and it has a line (striketrhough)
through it. To read the message she has to select it and undelete it first.
I have done searches through the OE newsgroups to find an answer to this,
but couldn't find any solutions.
Would appreciate your help.
