- Outlook Install >> Outlook will not open because it's missing the Outlook1.pst fileOutlook was unable to send/recceive due to a "Data Error (cyclic redundancy
check)" related to the file in C:\ ... \Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook1.pst.
I isolated, then removed the offending file. Now Outlook will not open. I
have repeatedly uninstalled Outlook and the entire Office suite, then
reinstalled them from the installation CD. Still, Outlook will not open
because of the missing "Outlook1.pst" file.
How can I get Outlook to function again?

- Contact >> distribution lists not exportedJust as described in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article -
218293, I am unable to export a distribution list (type
of "Contact") from one machine that is running Outlook
2003 to another machine that is running Outlook 2003. The
Knowledge Base article describes (I think) the same
problem for Outlook 2000. How can I get my machines to
behave properly? Thank you.

- Outlook >> "How's next tuesday?" - Auto Reply?!So I've got a computer here with Outlook 2003 with
Microsfot Exchange and every so often it sends out an auto
reply saying "How's next tuesday for you" and nothing
else. It sent about 5 copies yesterday, one was sent back
to the person with the problem. I've checked the out of
office assistant and there is nothing set in there.
So is this a virus or is there something I'm not checking?

- Outlook General >> outlook2003 crashes on startupOutlook2003 crashes on startup. I've tried running in safe mode- doesn't
work. I've tried repairing .pst several times- didn't help. I've tried
creating a new mail profile via the control panel- didn't help. I don't see
anything in the event viewer except the un-informative error that Outlook has
"accepted the safe mode".
Unless anyone has any other suggestions- I'd like some help on completely
uninstalling Office2003, including wiping whatever needs to go in the
registry.
Thanks,
Weezy

- Outlook General >> Outlook 2003 should allow me to drag emails directly into shortcu.Previous versions of Outlook allwed me to drag emails directly into shortcuts
to network folders. The new "improved" version will not allow me to drag
them directly. I now have to open the folder, drag the email into the opened
window, then close the window. This is a MAJOR change that affects my work.
Has anyone figured out how to do it?

- Contact >> Contacts/Inbox/CalendarIs it possible to set an option so that when I toggle between Contacts and
either Inbox or Calendar that I return to the same Contact that I was
previously viewing instead of returning to the first contact? I would like to
set this without having to opening multiple windows (which would do the
trick) because the toolbar at the bottom of my screen is already full enough.
Thanks!

- Outlook Install >> Outlook [Phishing]Outlook has incorrectly labeled email from a safe contact with the [Phishing]
tag. I have added the sender to the safe senders list and now the email is
delivered to the inbox instead of the junk mail folder, but the [Phishing]

since it is a known safe sender?

Outlook >> How to delete ghost "personal folders"?
Hi,
I have Microsoft Outlook 2003 running on Windows XP Home. I have tried to
copy my old .pst file over to the new installation of outlook, and to my
horror, it created "personal folders" that I could not remove from "Data
Files" in "Mail Setup" under Options. I have removed all existing data
files, but the "personal folders" as well as the "calendars are still there.
I have tried to right click on and "Close Personal Folders" but it doesn't
allow me to click on it. How do I remove them!?
Thank you
Best regards,
Alex

Outlook >> How to delete ghost "personal folders"?
You corrupted your mail profile this way;
Create a new profile (do not copy it);
Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles
To access your current pst-file in the new profile;
File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...
To set it as the default delivery location;
Tools-> E-mail Accounts...-> button Next-> use the dropdownlist below

Copied a PST over the top of an identically named one, didn't you.
Guaranteed to corrupt your mail profile.

- Calendaring >> export - import calendar data office - exchange 2000I'm trying to get all calendar entries from a public folder calendar to a
users calendar.
I've tried the export/import to txt/xls but I only get some recuring
entries, not all recuring entries and I don't get any individual entries
(appointments).
I tried exporting to a backup.pst then opening that pst in the new users
outlook but I guess I don't understand what a pst file is because nothing
seems to happen when I open it? There is no aditional calendar to veiw/open?
I've seen some post that say to open the backup.pst in the new users outlook
then do a select all - copy - paste but again I'm not seeing the calendar
from the backup.pst.
using windows 2000 - outlook 2000 - exchange 2000
Thanks

- Outlook >> messages cannot be seenOutLook Express 6
When I start up express, all is how it should be.
All my messages that I have received and sent are there.
However if I click on any message all the text of my
emails cannot be seen or have disapeared.
This is the same if I double click on any message and open
it.
The toolbar seems correct.
If I create a new email I can write in the to: Cc: and
subject: box, but I am unable to write and email in the
message window.
Any new email sent to me has no writing in the message
window.
Any advise,
Thanks

- Outlook Install >> How do I uncompress Outlook Express dbx folders? My old computer crashed, but had backup on CD to restore
files to my new computer. However, it appears I didn't
backup the PST files from Microsoft Outlook 2000, but do
have various other Outlook 2000 files. I do have a
multitude of DBX files however, and believe what I'm
looking for is contained in them. I have tried placing
them in the Outlook Express and Outlook 2000 folders, but
no luck getting either to open them. I think if I can
get them uncompressed I'll be ok. Anyone have any idea
of how to uncompress dbx files?

- Outlook Install >> Outlook Exchange Server account to POP3I had an exchange mailbox in Outlook, but now I want to add a POP3 account.

- Outlook General >> Stop autoreceive on loadingHi,
I have searched and Googled but I cannot seem to find the info
required to stop Outlook 2007 (SP1) doing an automatic send/receive
when loading.
Sometimes I just want to read/look for an old email without being
confronted with new stuff that needs attention.
TIA.

- Outlook >> SCANPST.EXE changed appointments to mail!I am using Outlook 2002 and Windows 2000 under a corporate system. I only use
Outlook as a calendar, and use a corporate mail system.I also use a Palm Zire
71 and synchronise it with Outlook I returned to work on Tuesday (4th) and,
on attempting to open outlook it told me that there were errors in the .pst
file and I should use scanpst.exe. I did so: it found errors (60+?) and
proceeded to fix them.
It saved the results as "recovered folder 8122" but had changed all of my
appointments into mail messages, and insists on listing them by date of
creation of appointment. The icon still shows them as calendar appointments.
"from" shows as unknown, and "received" is date of creating the appointment
Bottom right of screen shows appointment details (correct) but won't let me
edit them. When I tried to synchronise with the Palm it delated all
appointments on that.
Any ideas, anyone?

- IE6&Outlook >> Problems saving attachmentsI have found that suddenly my Outlook express converts any
picture to a bitmap file when I try to save it. Looking at
the file from the paper clip shows that it is a .jpg file
but when I try to save it, the only option given is
bitmap. Is there some way to change this?
Thanks

- Outlook General >> Outlook 2003 - Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values..."Every time I lock my PC or allow it to go into sleep mode, I get
dialogue boxes in Outlook that read, "Could not complete the operation
One or more parameter values are not valid." I've read postings wher
this error message appears relating to tasks and notes, but nothin
like what I'm experiencing. In case it's applicable, my PC also ha
synchronizing software for my Blackberry. I'm not an IT person, bu
our IT department can't figure this out, so I'm looking on my own.
One more thing...the error messages appear to come in twos.
OCCASIONALLY, they'll just pop up while I'm using my Outlook email, bu
there's no consistency in it. The 8 messages mentioned above i
predictably consistent.
I look forward to any thoughts or ideas you may have
