- IE6&Outlook >> Sending a linkHi, hope someone can help...
When I try to send a link or page from the Internet it
automatically asks me to sign in to my hotmail account
when what i want is to send it from outlook express.
I've been to internet options and checked that it's
outlook which is my default, which it is, but it still
goes back to hotmail. When I have tried to send a link
from hotmail the page is never attached?
Hope this makes sense
Thanks in advance for suggestions

- Outlook General >> Outlook 2003/ SBS 2003 Exchange Data Content IssuesHello all,
I run Outlook 2003 with SBS 2003 and use SBS's Exchange for email.
On a new client PC with Office 2003, when setting up the mailbox for the
first time, Outlook only brings in the most recent emails. For example, on
my laptop version of Outlook (Windows XP) , I can see Sent Items from as far
back as 2002. On this new install however, I only see Sent Items back as
far as early November of this year.
I do not have autoarchiving enable - and the SBS box has an unlimited
mailbox limit for my account.
The new client machine is Vista RTM and Offline files are set to maximum
allowed. I find it hard to understand that this is OS related given I have
set the quotas so high on the client - maybe some update to Exchange??
What could be causing this?
Thanks in advance!

- Outlook >> Duplicate Personal FoldersI have a new workstation w/Outlook 2003. I exported the
pst file from the old machine (Outlook 2000) and imported
the file to this new machine. Now, I have 2 sets of
Personal Folders. They are identical. If I delete an
email or folder from one, it is gone from the other.
Both sets of folders are reading the same data file, so 2
data files isn't the problem. I don't know what to do to
solve this problem.
Thank you in advance!

- Outlook General >> Blank message body in Outlook 2003Some of our users have repeatedly experienced a problem when sending emails.
Sometimes their email message body goes blank right after they send the
message. Sometimes the message reaches the receipient with a blank message
body and sometimes not. Sometimes the message body is blank in the sent items
box and sometimes not. We at the IT dep. havn't managed to find a reason for
this strange behavior.
All users are using Win XP SP2 and Outlook 2003 SBS version. We are using a
CommuniGate Pro server.
Thx for any help!

- Outlook General >> Outlook 2000 crashingFollowing a serious trojan attack, which took many hours to resolve, Outlook
seems to have sustained some damage which cannot be repaired.
Whenever the application is loaded, it appears to start up OK but almost
immediately there is an MS error message saying that the program has
encountered a serious error and has to close.
Using Uninstall via the Control Panel, followed by a re-installation of the
whole Office 2000 disk does not cure the problem, so it appears that either
there are elements of Outlook that do not get removed when uninstalling, or
the problem is deeper within the OS (XP Pro). I found a tool called Eraser2K
which claims to do a thorough removal job, but this will not run under XP.
Does anyone know of any other tool that can effectively remove ALL traces of
Outlook/Office 2000, or alternatively, can anyone offer any thoughts on what
the fault might be and how it could be fixed?

- Outlook >> WORKAROUND - Install problem with Microsoft Office 2003 with Business Contact ManagerProblem description:
A full install of Microsoft Office 2003 with Business Contact Manager
will fail when opening Outlook 2003 for the first time with an error dialog
showing:
Object Reference not set to an instance of an object.
Contact Business Contact Manager Support.
When this error-dialog is dismissed, a "Serious Error" dialog will be seen
indicating a problem with the Business Contact Manager.
When that dialog is dismissed, another dialog will be seen indicating a
problem with Microsoft Outlook itself.
If Norton AntiVirus is installed, another dialog will appear indicating that
NAV is reacting to the startup-crash of Outlook and offering to disable the
NAV add-in for Outlook. This is a complete red-herring and has *nothing*
to do with the problem. Answering for-or-against does not change the
situation at all.
Problem resolution:
After installing Microsoft Office 2003, from the install CD, open Outlook
at least once *before* updating the product using either the Microsoft
Update
or Office Update websites.
Answer all the questions necessary to integrate Business Contact Manager
with Microsoft Outlook 2003 - and allow the initialization process for BCM
to successfully integrate itself into Outlook 2003. Shut Outlook 2003 down
and
then restart Outlook 2003 to confirm the integration process was successful.
Once the integration process in the original product has completed
successfully,
you can now update using Office Update or Windows Update and the update
process should go-to-completion successfully.
Note: If the problem recurs, you will need to completely uninstall Business
Contact Manager and Office 2003. After reinstalling, make sure you open
Outlook 2003 and confirm correct operation after *each* update-set is
installed.
Corrective action required:
One or more of the Security Patches for Microsoft Office 2003 has not
been properly regression-tested. As a result, if the Security Patches are
installed *before* Microsoft Outlook 2003 is started for the first time -
and
the user wishes to integrate Microsoft Outlook 2003 with Business Contact
Manager - then the initialization process required to integrate BCM with
O2K3 will fail due to security restrictions imposed as part of the set of
security updates for Office 2003.
The above problem requires further investigation. Updated patchsets
must be developed which allow the initialization of BCM *after* the
security patches are installed.
Best I can do for now. <tm>
