If I close it and reopen it all the rules then work but any subsequent

Any help would be gratefully received -

- Outlook >> Why do Inbox msgs disappear on "Forward"Feel like I'm missing something here but I've been through the Outlook
2000 Help files and all the menu options and can't find a switch that
would cause my "Forwarded" messages to disappear on Send. Would
appreciate any advice on what could be causing this.
Recently, Outlook started dumping each message from my Inbox after it
is "Forwarded". I've used Office for years and never had this happen
before. The dumped message is not in the Deleted folder. Any ideas?
It's OL 2000, SP3 running under Win2000 Pro.
Sorry for the second post on same subject. Seems not many people
actually reply on this forum although many ask questions. My question
of a few hours ago is already way down on the second page with almost
none of the posts actually receiving replies. The Compuserve Outlook
forum seems to work a lot better with questions answered within minutes
but it's going to take me a week or two to get signed up w/ Compuserve.

In prior versions of Outlook I used an add-in that allowed me to receive

this?

Outlook General >> Does OL impose a PST file size limit?
I'm running Outlook from Office XP Pro (aka Outlook 2002),
does OL have a restriction on the maximum size of the PST file?
I've run into an interesting problem. OL ran great last Thurs.
but not Fri. Now it's "not responding". It still acceses and pulls
down mail from my server, but it locks up upon trying to read.
I think I've noticed that older mail fine to read but the new stuff
is locking it up. It's almost as if a pointer can't get up there for the
most current.
My PST file is 1015 meg., just over one gig.
I'd like to open another PST to use as a Personel Folder archive,
but again OL refuses and becomes "unresponsive".
I suspect that moving stuff to the Deleted Items dosen't really delete
them; it just arranges a pointer to skip those data addresses, and the file
itself remains constant in size.
Any suggestions on accessing (for the purpose of moving) some
of the most recent incoming mail?
Thanks in advance.

Outlook General >> Does OL impose a PST file size limit?
Yes, there is a file size and item count limitation.
2GB max file size
65,000 items per folder
65,000 folders per folder
Couple of thoughts...
1) Run the inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe) against your *.pst file to rule
out corruption
2) exclude *.pst files from being scanned by antivirus software

Outlook General >> Does OL impose a PST file size limit?
once you move it to deleted items you need to empty the deleted folder -
right click on it and choose empty.

Outlook General >> Does OL impose a PST file size limit?
Scanpst.exe? Interesting. Never heard of it, but it's running now & we'll
see what happens.
As for emptying the Deleted Items, I set OL to do that automaticaly upon
exit.
Although I still suspect emptying this "folder" simply sets pointers to skip
those
unwanted items.
Thanks to both of you, Neo & Diane. One is never to old to learn something
new. :-)

Outlook General >> Does OL impose a PST file size limit?
correct, the pointers are removed in the index but until you compact the
file, the messages still exist. Once you hit 20% white space (messages
without pointers) outlook will begin to compact it automatically.

- Outlook General >> Upgrade from XP to 2007I think it is ridiculous that Microsoft made it so difficult to upgrade from
xp Outlook to Outlook 2007.
I could not find any information as to how to do this that would work. After
wasting hours trying to find a solution that would work (which included
searching on the Microsoft site) I eventually had to export the entire folder
structure from Outlook XP and then import it into Outlook 2007. Why would you
not make it easier for us all to migrate?
What surprises me more is that this sort of things happens so often with
this company. I guess that all you want is our money.
