Outlook Install >> can't find word as email editor in outlook

I just installed outlook on new computer (windows xp professional) and office
professional. When I try to enter a new message, says cannot find work as
email editor. I went into options, mail format and checked off use word as
editor. It stays checked until I try to type a new message in, then it
automatically removes the check mark in mail format

Outlook Install >> can't find word as email editor in outlook Both Outlook and Word must be the same version in order for Word to be used
as Outlook's email editor. Are they?
