Imnporting mail account settings

Outlook425
Every time I've ever tried to import mail or news account settings into

Outlook Express I always have gotten a message "No other mail (or news)

account settings could be found".

I have installed XP on a separate drive from Win98_SE, and have easily

imported messages and address book under XP. But I also need to import the

mail and news settings.

I have exported those to .iaf files under Win98 and saved them under My

Documents on the XP partition.

So where does OE look for those settings? Is there some particular place I

need to save those .iaf files to so OE can find them? Are the settings

stored somewhere in the registry, so that I and export/import them from

there?

Thanks in advance for any advice you might have.

Merry Christmas

Ken

Re:Imnporting mail account settings

Well, I found the answer (partially). You have to import settings under

tool/accounts after exporting them from the registry of the OS you are

trying to import from(HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Account

Manager).

I don't know why those "import settings" options are under "File", since

they don't work.

I had to reset my subscribed newsgroups, though. They didn't get imported.
