- Outlook General >> Outlook XP, Exchange questionsHi, at work I can connect to the exchange server for all the Outlook
email things. Now when I take this laptop home I want to be able to
dial up to the server and download emails, but because I am now off
the exchange network I am denied access. I have tried the Web Access
option which is very good, but I would prefer to work from Outlook
rather than thru the web if that is possible. Thanks.

- Calendaring >> no free/busy- We've set up our resources so that they "automatically accept
meeting requests and process cancellations" and have given the
"Author" permission to a Universal Security Group (that is
mail-enabled) called "Renner", which pretty much "everyone" in our
Company. The Free/busy options are set to publish 2 months (some we've
set higher) and update every 2 minutes.
- I create a new meeting request in my calendar, invite 2 or 3
people (required attendees) and 2 resources (projector and laptop).
Send the request and immediately get the "your resources have been
successful booked" dialog box.
- Within minutes I receive "accept" replies from the 2-3 people,
can go to the "schedule" tab on the meeting and the Attendees
free/busy info is displayed accordingly. The resources free/busy,
however doesn't show correctly (shows as free). I can go open the
resource's calendar and there is my reservation, go back to my
calendar and the resource(s) free/busy still shows "free". If I try
and book another meeting with that same equipment during the same
time, it will tell me that it is UNAVAILABLE, but again the free/busy
shows up as "free". Occasionally it will show up later (30 minutes to
2 hours) and some test meetings I did over 24 hours ago still aren't
displaying. Furthermore, not all of the meeting for these resource
will display the "calendar details".
Help?

- Outlook General >> How do I keep other email recipients' addressesI was copied on an email that had about 100 other recipients. I want to keep
their addresses to put in our database. If I Reply All, I have their names
with the link if I click individually (do I make sense?) I can copy them but
it would take forever to do this. Is there not a way to do it and have them
in email format?
i.e. name shows as doe, john (underlined) I want the john.doe@abc.com that is
behind the link.

- Outlook General >> Outlook New Preview OptionI'm running the Outlook 2007 Beta and liking it mostly but have run
into a
couple of issues that are buggy.
One, which is most nagging currently pertains to the change that has
been
made with previewing mail. I have mail forwarded to me from my main
office
to my home office. Previously in '03 I couldn't view the contents by
clicking (single mouse click) on it. Now in '07 preview appears with a
single mousse click and in order to view the forwarded mail such that
you can respond, you have todouble-click.
Is there any way to turn-off the preview and have it work like in '03?
Thanks

- Contact >> Using contacts to Dial phone numbersI am trying to use my contacts list to actually dial phone
numbers (rather than using the phone's keypad).
It works fine with straightforward numbers (after I add a
phone cable to the phone socket !).
However as soon as I add a 'pause' to the number string
(using a comma) it causes Outlook to think I want to dial
an Internet number. I want to add a pause so that I can
put a calling card in the dial sequence.
So my question is:
Does anyone know how to add a pause to a number in
Contacts or Personal Address Book so that the Dial button
can be used to dial the number on a regular phone line ?

- Outlook General >> Outlook 2002 - unable to send emailI just started using a Sprint Wireless Broadband card for internet access and
am now unable to send email. I can receive email fine. I have double
checked my email account settings with my email account provider and they are
set correctly but Outlook keeps giving me an error message
Task 'Comcast - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Unable to send the
message. Please verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The
server responded: 530 Authentication required'
I don't have problems sending email from my office location, just when
traveling and using my wireless card, my wireless card provider says the
problem is with microsoft outlook. . . . .any ideas?

- Outlook General >> Simple search for user defined fields in outlookHi
I have setup a task area in outlook which I have created a heap of "user
defined fields".
I now want to use the "look for" search feature of outlook when in that task
area.
The only problem is that it searches all default feilds but not the new ones
I've created.
The only way I can search the fields is to do an advanced find.
How can I modify the general find to include my "user defined fields".
thanks in advance

- Outlook General >> Attachments in Outlook 2007 Beta 2Whenever I try to insert a Word 2007 Beta 2 document (which may itself have
been created with Word 2003) as an attachment in an e-mail being sent with
Outlook 2007, it attaches it as a "docx" file, which the recipient cannot
open without running Winzip or some other unzipping program. Is there a way
to make Outlook 2007 attach the file as a simple doc file?

- Outlook >> New to group-Outlook 2002 (xp) Acting strangeHi-
I have used Outlood 2k for a couple of years and moved up
to Outlook 2002 with a new machine. I have set up 2 email
pop3 accounts. Many of my inbound messages are CC to me
and I am getting 2 copies of each message. These messages
are coming to me addressed to only 1 account. Also, when I
add a new contact and click Save and Close, the page will
not close or save. I can save by clicking on the X
control and then save the data via the dialoge box. Please
help.

- Outlook >> REQ: Can Someone Help Me With This Outlook XP Question?Hello All:
I use Word to edit my e-mail msgs in Outlook XP. I had to reinstall Office
the other day and now whenever I want to start a new e-mail or reply to an
e-mail I get a warning that comes up:
"A program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in Outlook.
Do you want to allow this?
If this is unexpected it may be a virus and you should choose 'No'"
There is a box that asks for the amount of time to allow the access: 1 to 10
minutes.
Do I have to have specific settings for my Outlook address book? I use the
Contact area in Outlook for addresses.
I have never come across this before in the 3 years that I have been using
XP. I use Word to edit the e-mails because of a business card that I use. I
have never experienced this problem in the past with using the business card
stationery.
Is there a way to fix this problem? It is more annoying than anything else.
Thanks!!!

- IE6&Outlook >> Transferring Existing OutlookExpress to new PCHello
I'm getting a new PC soon and want to transfer my existing OutlookExpress
setup, including newsgroups accounts and subscriptions, mail accounts and
folders, adressbook, message rules and blocked senders list, etc etc to the
new PC.
Can someone please give me pointers how to do this? Are there a full set of
instructions somewhere?
I guess the new PC will come with IE6 and OutLookExpress already installed
so I need some way of exporting or archiving my existing stuff then
importing it into OE on the new PC?
Many thanks,

- Contact >> How do I get Outlook to use contacts when clicking "to" in new em.I have 2 contacts folders or whatever you call the place contacts are held.
If I click "to" in new email I gat a message saying contacts not available
but if I browse I can find two contact folders, one just contacts and one
contacts in personal folders. I want Outlook to use one or the other, they
are the same, just by double clicking on the "to" as usual. One of the
contacts folders appears when I click "contacts" in the menues on the side.
Sorry to be so confusing, but I don't know how else to explain it. Maybe I
could delete one of the folders? which one?
Thanks for any help.

Outlook Install >> TS Profile with Outlook 2003
I'm saving my users TS Profile so that I don't have to reconfigure thier
Outlook 2003 Exchange Server configuration on all three of my W2K TS Servers.
The application that I use calls the default mail client to send a message
out. The problem is this; when the roaming profile is used for the first time
on one of the TS Server you need to answer the little banner message while
opening Outlook 2003 (asks for the Name and initials). The problem is that
users access the application via a publish application, not by the remote
desktop. So the user doesn't see this message, because the user is accessing
Outlook 2003 directly. But, until this dialog is answered, the mail client
gives a MAPI 2 error while trying to send email from any applications. So, I
can then logon as the user, check ok to the dialog (when opening Outlook
2003) and then everything is fine from then on. The problem is that I'm using
Roaming profiles so that I don't have to manually configure, and logon with
each users account. Does anyone know how to supress this initial Outlook 2003
Dialog in a Roaming profile environment?

Outlook Install >> TS Profile with Outlook 2003
Your post is quite confusing. The whole purpouse of Roaming Profiles is that
you travel with your settings. Configure once; use on any machine. Sounds
like you are running some sort of script that does the initial
configuration? You should create a check in your script that look on the
profile server and see if there is a profile already. If so it should abort
the script.

Outlook Install >> TS Profile with Outlook 2003
No, No script. Just using only TS Profile for TS interactions. All I want to
do is to avoid having to login to each TS and click "OK" on the Outlook 2003
dialog that is presented the first time it pop's up. All the data is loaded
(via the profile), just don't want to have to reply to the message.

- Outlook General >> Auotscan - Outlook HangupsUsing Outlook 2000-SP3 with Norton Internet Security 2004
over a cable modem and LinkSys router. Lately Outlook
goes into autoscan and hangs up. If I close the Outlook
window, autoscan keep going. When I reboot, a Not
Responding dialog box comes up saying Outlook is not
responding. After reboot, the Outlook inbox has an unread
envelope icon on the left, a blank From and Subject field
and "None" for the Received field.
From Subject Received
None
I have even checked to see if there was mail in my post
office using POP3NOW.com and it's there before opening
Outlook, but gone after this autoscan hangup. Apparently
they get marked as read and taken off the server.
This doesn't happen all the time, but I never know when
it will and I don't know what messages I might have lost.
Any ideas?

- Outlook General >> Searching PST files on a CDRWI have a user who wants to copy pst files to a CD (for archiving) and then be
able to search the files using Outlook without first copying them back to the

accomplish what the user wants to do using CDRW? If not, any other
suggestions for addressing the problem?

Not sure what happened. All other applications on my system seem normal.

This is an earlier version of Outlook - I believe 2002.
I have Vista on my system, only the Office software is not updated version.

I can still access my email acct settings via the desktop icon - but can do

my email. The other 2 users do not use a password.
On two occasions the window that shows the users name and
then Password tells me that the password I enter has
failed and will not let me log on. The password I'm using
is the correct password but the software does not
recognize it. The first time this happened I could not
get help from my ISP or from Dell Computers telling me
how to overcome this problem.. I set a new password and
that caused me to lose all of my previous email messages
and folders. The only way I could recover them was to
do a System Recover back to an earlier date which meant
that I lost every email from the current date. Now I have
the same problem. Anyone know how to get into my email
without having to do a System Recovery?
