- Outlook General >> Default mail formatWhen I right click on a file and select send as
attachment, it always creates a plain text email.
I have set all of the defaults I can find in Outlook to
HTML, but they only seem to affect new messages created
within Outlook..
Is there a way to get Windows to create a new HTML message
rather than plain text?
(I am using Outlook 2000 and Windows 200 Pro)
Thanks

- Outlook General >> View 2 Accounts in Outlook 2003I recently set up 2 accounts in Outlook 2003. I did not set any rules when
setting these up. After a couple days, I see when I log in that I have 7
unread messages. When I view my inbox there are no unread messages shown.
The problem, is that my view is only showing one of my accounts - the account
with no unread messages. The second account, which ahs the 7 unread
messages, is not being seen. I've since established a rule in which both
accounts go to the same inbox, but how do I view the 7 messages received
prior to this? I've done a search for unread messages, and tried to change
the view many ways. All with no luck. I'd appreciate any help.

do I open it to view the contents?
I'm also distracted by the Inbox date headings of today, yesterday, last

- Outlook General >> Attaching Zip filesHi
Does anyone know why there are times when I'm trying to
attach zip files and I am browsing for the files through
Outlook, the zip files will not appear in the dialog box
provided by Outlook...
The strange thing is that I am able to attach zip files
without any problem at other times...
Can someone kindly explain why Outlook is behaving so
strangely? Any advice/suggestion would be greatly
appreciated...
Cheers

I am on a network and my server handles email. Still should work on my

- Outlook >> Outlook Meeting RequestsOK guys, this is the situation:
User A sends a meeting request to user B. User B receives this
invitation and accepts, declines etc the request. However, User A does
not get a response saying that User B has accepted, declined the
meeting.
This is currently affecting all users at a 20 person office running
Exchange 2003 with Outlook 2003 SP2.
Any ideas???
I will personally kiss your feet if you can solve this for me ;)

- IE6&Outlook >> Send/Recv button disconnects online connectionI can connect to the internet just fine. I can open IE
and surf as long as I want. I can open Outlook Express6
just fine but everytime I click the Send/Recv button it
immediately drops my online connection and the online icon
disappears from the sys tray. I can reconnect just fine
but everytime I click the Send/Recv button the same thing
repeatedly happens. All was fine with Outlook until this
afternoon when this started happening.

- Outlook >> How do you print 1 Page and Network Printers Appear in Word but not OutlookI have two problems. First, it seems rather ridiculuous that there is no
easy way to print one page of an e-mail message. The only choice that you
have are even, odd, and all pages. The default format for e-mail is html.
What is even stranger is that I have Word 2003 SP1 set as the default for
editing e-mail messages, but when I click on edit on the Outlook menu bar,
it does not default to the word print dialog box, which last time I checked
allowed you to specify a range of pages.
The other problem is that I have a networked printer that appears in the
Word Printer dialog box, but does not appear in the Outlook dialog box.
You would think that Outlook and Word would use the same printer dialog
routine because they are both parts of the Office software.
TIA,
Pete

- Outlook General >> Copying e-mail box questionHi. I don't have Outlook on my PC and am trying to help someone that
does....over the phone lines, not in person. She wants to get all of
her e-mail, both sent and received, onto a CD and transfer it to another
PC and have access to those messages on the new PC.
I had her look in Tools/Options and she found a file that has an
extenstion of .PST (I believe). It pointed to the folder C:\Mail.
There were 2 files there; Archive.PST and HerEmailName.PST. I had her
copy those 2 files onto the CD. But I'm unsure if those 2 files are
both her sent/received files.
Could you help me verify that I had her copy the correct files? And if
so, how does she set them up on her new computer to use? If not, can
you tell me where the files are that stores her e-mail messages? Thanks.

- Outlook >> AOL icon in outlook expressHope someone can help me. I have two computers that
previously ran AOL I have since got rid of AOL removed
the program and all AOL files etc. But still when I go
into Outlook or Outlook Express I get the AOL icon at the
top right of the screen. It is not creating a problem
but I would like for the AOL icon to be gone and the
Windows icon to appear.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ron Delaney

Calendaring >> Calender on server / Mail on PST
No, you need to use Exchange as your delivery point to
use the Free/busy.

- Outlook General >> Someone, please try to answer this post!!!I've noticed a few similar postings regarding the following and I have never
seen a response......
Is there any way to use the rules in Out of Office Assistant to specify who
will or will not receive the AutoReply message. It is my understanding
that if the Out of Office Assistant is on and an Auto Reply message is
created, that the "rules" will be applied after the AutoReply message is
sent, which means that everyone receives the Autoreply......is that correct?

For some reason I've been receiving many of these lately.
I've tried creating a rule with the "lines" property equal to zero but that
didn't work. Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks!

field. Can someone walk me (slowly) through how to do that? TIA!

- Outlook General >> Can't send through Outlook 2003I have my Hotmail account linked to my Outlook 2003. I tried sending some
photos that were about 15 MB in size. Hotmail only allows you to send 10MB
attachments. The problem I am now experiencing is that I have this email
stuck in my outbox in Outlook. I cannot delete this email and thertefore any
email I try to send using my Outlook account gets stuck behind the initial
email with the 15 MB attachment. If anyone can assist me in deleting this
email I would really appreciate the help. Thanx!

- Outlook >> Email in Outlook very slow to openI am running XP/Office XP. When I click to open an email

- Outlook General >> can't send in 2007, can in 2000I have several users on the road right now. They are all staying in the same
hotel. The users with Office 2000 can send and recieve email. The users with
Office 2007 can only recieve.
Windows XP Pro SP2 w/Office 2007.
SMTP Settings are correct.
I've read about the ISP's blocking port 25, our hosting company has another
port open to accomodate that but it's still not working.
According to the hotel staff no one with Office 2007 can send email there.
I need to find some fix for this. We have to have email when we're on the
road. If we use an internal exchange server will we have access to mail from
anywhere or will we have the same issue?
Thanks,
Chris

- Outlook General >> Outlook Auto Formatting disappears until you restart OutlookThe rules setup in automatic formatting work fine while you are in the
calendar and setup a meeting with a shared calendar.
Then when you click off of that folder, the rules disappear, the color

a hassle.
Any ideas on how to make this stop?
P.S. thanks for deleting this same post that I just posted yesterday without

- Outlook General >> NEW-Unique? How do I make copies of received emails in Outlook 200I use Win XP Pro (sp2), and Outlook 2003 as my email client. I use Word 2003
as my email authoring tool. I've heard that the SAFEST way to preview/view
email is by using the "navigation pane," because when viewing new incoming
emails there..."they are in a protected/safe area," (i.e. virus exposure,
etc.) but I can't copy any of them to folders OTHER THAN my personal Outlook
folders, along the left Outlook margin. How can I make copies for separate
hard drive non-outlook folders? When I do a "select all" - it just highlights
the LIST of emails in my in-box (the narrow band going top to bottom in the
center of the Outlook inbox page). When I try to highlight ALL of the
"HEADER/INFO" as well as the MESSAGE DISPLAYED BELOW, after clicking within
the right side of the Outlook email viewing pane/page, I can't select it ALL
simultaneously, i.e., just PART of the "intro" above, OR the message below,
but NOT both. When only one email is highlighted, and in view, it won't allow
me to copy ALL of the data. How do I get around this? I want to copy it into
Word, Notepad, etc., and store it elsewhere. THANKS !!!
