- IE6&Outlook >> Find a message - CC: and BCC: brokenI am mistaken...it's not SP2, it's XP. I recently installed XP to replace
Win2K then soon after installed SP2.
If I send an email and one or more recipients plus cc: and/or bcc: I could
later do a Find, search for someone. If they were a recipient, regardless of
which (to:, cc:, or bcc:) type the message would be 'found'. O.E. XP find
only finds a to: not a cc: or a bcc:. BUMMER!
Then again...is there a configuration thing that will turn this on again so
it works properly?
Thank you and sorry for any confusion. I had to find an SP1 machine to do a
sanity check.

- Outlook Install >> Outlook address book problemsI have many entries in my OAB. Some have been imported from Outlook
Express, and some I have entered manually. My problem is that when I
display the list in the main panel, some are listed [First name Last
name] and some are listed [Last name, First name]. Whatever I do I
cannot seem to get all the entries looking the same.
I have tried Russell's advice (Outlook 2002:
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order
there) but this makes no difference. I have also looked at each entry
in detail and tried altering them on an individual basis, but even if I
select 'File as' and 'Display as' in the order I want, it makes no
difference either.
Perversely, if I open the address book itself, (Tools>Address Book) the
names are consistent. It's only when displayed in the main panel that
they are wrong.
I ought to say that my names are in a subfolder within the OAB.

- Outlook >> Phone Number Data Entry Template SetupMy Outlook 2002 has been reinstalled and it no longer
automatically formats phone numbers that are entered. In
the past, I just entered the numbers and it automatically
formatted the numbers with parentheses and hyphens. For
example, if I entered a phone contact as 8889991111,
Outlook would automatically display (888)999-1111 when I
hit the enter key or tab. I cannot find how to turn this
function back on? Can you assist me?

- Outlook General >> Problem with users opening OFT'sIn my office we've got several users trying to access oft forms via a
hyperlink on one of our intranet sites. They're all using Office 2003.
I really don't know much about oft's other than the fact that they
should open a form template in outlook.
The wierd thing is, some of the users are able to open them, and some
of the users are only getting a blank email.
For the life of me, I can't figure out what the difference is between
the users who can, and the users who can't. (I've even got one user
that can open one form.. but not others).
I've narrowed it down to something on the machine because I've logged
into a machine that doesn't work and had the same problem myself.
It's almost as if the forms need to be registered someplace. Is there a
local security/registry setting that can allow forms in Outlook 2003?
All the threads I find on the web related to this same issue are
unanswered.

- Outlook Install >> Installation FailureLast year I bought a Pocket PC Premium w/ Outlook 2002.
I am now needing to install Outlook on both my pc and my
IPAQ. When I install onto my pc, the software prompts for
the product key, then seems to continue to a successful
completion. However, the only outlook files I find on my
pc are text files in Windows/temp. No application was
installed. I am able to "uninstall" it, which implies
that windows acknowledges it exists, but there is no
executable module.
I have tried asking for help in the mobile newsgroup, but
they were unable to assist in this matter.
Please let me know your thoughts. I think I need a new
setup file - but....

- Outlook General >> Problem when I insert pictures.I noticed in just the last few days that I've been using OL2003 that when I
add certain images into the email body they automatically become reduced to
like a fifth of the original image. Even if I already have my images set to a
size I want to send (i.e., I want to send images of 640x480 pixels and when I
"insert picture" the get scaled to 128x96 pixels automatically). Anyone know
why this is happening? I'm using Word as my email editor currently and would
like to keep that as is if possible.
Sometimes even the opossite occurs when I add smaller image of like 100x100
pixels it goes up to about 105x105 pixels in the same scenario as above.
Someone, please help. Thanks.

- Outlook General >> OWA crashingI have a SBS 2003 server with SP2 running exchange mail. From my XP machine
running XP Pro 2002 SP2 i can send exchange mail from outlook 2003 SP2 but
when i access OWA on my intranet i cant send mail. I can access the company
web and i can open and log into exchange. When i select to create a new mail
it crashes when i select send.
On My XP machine event log, when i open OWA, i get:
WARNING: A provider, OffProv11, has been registered in the WMI namespace,
Root\MSAPPS11, to use the LocalSystem account. This account is privileged
and the provider may cause a security violation if it does not correctly
impersonate user requests.
Then when i try to send the email from within OWA the evnt log shows:
ERROR: Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6000.16544, faulting
module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x037dcc45.
Could anyone help please. I am sure this might have something to do with the
way ie7 is running OWA but i keep coming up blanks.

- Outlook General >> Outlook keeps asking for the password for my email accountsI am using Outlook 2003 that came with Office Professional Eddition on a
computer with Windows XP SP2. I have my password saved in Outlook for each
of my accounts. Every time I start IOutlook, I receive the message asking
for the password for the accounts. The password appears in the dialogue box
in astrics. It is there. If I leave Outlook open, at times it will work
fine; however, periodically it will come up asking for the passwords for my
accounts. I cannot leave the program unattended or this message will appear
and it will time out. There are even times where after I click the OK
button, because the password is allready filled in, it keeps popping up with
the same messange and I have to reboot. I have tried going into the registry
and deleting the Microsoft storage area where the passwords are stored and
re-doing everything to no avail. any assistance you can provide would be
greatly appreciated.

- Calendaring >> Cancelled Meetings not removed from Resource Booking CalendarHello,
I have seen in several other forums people having the same issue as me but
really no solution has been offered. (Or at least a solution that works.)
I have several Conference Rooms setup for resource scheduling. The
Scheduling works great. However, if a user deletes or cancels the meeting,
it only updates the Resource Calendar with a tag that states" Cancelled".
This is fine, but what we want is the "Cancelled" tag to be gone as well, as
if the meeting was never there to begin with.
Is there a setting somewhere I am missing to make this happen. I have tried
several combinations of things and have not been able to come up with
anything successfully.
Any ideas?

- Calendaring >> Shared local calendar.Having recently started using Outlook 2007 I have been looking for a way to
share a calendar just on the family desktop between the 5 family members.
All I can find in the help system goes on about Exchange Server methods. Not
looking to share any other data within Outlook, just a calendar. Do I need
to create a separate pst file with just calendar entries?
