- Outlook >> can you disable spell check on email replies?Hi, I use Wordmail on Outlook 2000. I have spell check
configured to check my emails before they are sent. When
I am responding to emails, it checks through not only my
response but also the original text. It stops at every
email address, every person's name, and any mispellings
they have. Is there a way for Outlook to just spell check
MY response, and disregard the original text in email
replies?
Thanks for any help,
Amy

Outlook. I get my web-mail no problem, but each time I
open Outlook I have to go in to "E-mail accounts" and

something simple, but I can't figure it out. Please help!

- Outlook >> Help with Outlook updateI'm using Windows 2000, and decided I would check to see if my Outlook
2003 needed any updates. It found Outlook Collaboration Data Objects
Update as a critical update. But when I clicked to install it, I get a
window that says:
This machine does not have the MS Outlook Email Security Update
installed. Please install the MS Outlook Email Security Update before
running the CD0 1.21 Email Security Update.
I've searched on the web and on the MS webiste/help for anything
about this and found nothing. I don't understand what I am supposed
to do...it's like it's telling me I need another update, but I
thought that's what I was doing...?!? It's not telling me how to get
the update that I need to do the update. Arggg. Am I really that stupid
or do these things just not make sense sometimes....

- Outlook General >> where do I find old emails that disappeared (auto archived maybe)I use Outlook/Office 03 for email. The inbox for the alternate user profile
on my computer just ate all the old emails in the inbox. It was not nearly
overloaded enough to crash the system. Auto archive may be a culprit but I
cannot find any items in the archive files. We have no sub folders in the
archives (i know, I should, I will next time) so the items are not there...
any suggestions on where the old inbox contents went?

- Outlook General >> System Administrator email sent for every regular email I sendI am testing the installation of Office 07 on my computer and keep running
into the following situation: When ever I send an email I get an email from
the System Administrator indicating that the email was successfully sent.
The recipient is also getting a message to notify me of the message being
read.
I'm not sure why this is happening since I didn't change anything in the
OCT. And, since this is going to be deployed to a large number of users, I
can't expect them to turn off the option within Outlook.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Not if you live in the U.S., spammerman. They can only take free
accounts, no real money.

On the other hand, you can play for real money in the U.S. here:

Since it's not gambling (you never put money in-- you can, however,
win money and take it out)

In outlook I have set stationery and signatures under 'Mail Format' tab. The
problem is when I send email from another application via code such as
Set OutlookApp = New Outlook.Application
Set EM = OutlookApp.CreateItem(olMailItem)
The email ignores the stationery. What is the problem and how can I make the
stationery work even when mail is sent via code?
Many Thanks

- Outlook >> Automate mounting of additional mailboxHey all,
I feel stupid asking this, since it seems something searchable, but I
can't find help.
All I want to do is automate the mounting (is that even the correct
term?) of additional mailboxes for a user's Outlook profile. So, I
need to automate the process that currently takes about 8-9 mouse
clicks and typing of a mailbox name (Tools | Account Settings...,
Change, More Settings..., Advanced tab, etc.)
It seems really simple. I have done quite a bit of Outlook automation
involving scanning folders, adding folders, sending messages,
resolving recipients, etc. But I cannot find anything on how to make
additional mailboxes available programmatically.
Some facts:
-- The tool I write will have to work with both Outlook 2003 and 2007.
-- The user who runs the tool will have admin rights on their local
machine, and ActiveDirectory/Exchange rights to the mailbox trying to
be added.
-- The utility will be written in Visual Foxpro (it does fine with
automation of all sorts). We use VFP for all of our other Outlook
automation, and have never run into any problems.
Surely there is a way of doing this? We are about to have a whole
department needing access to 10+ various email boxes as we segment our
business flow. Having to visit each workstation and manually attach
to all the mailboxes will be extremely tedious, hence the need for
automation.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
JoeK

- Outlook Install >> Duplication after ImportI have 2 email accounts -- one Yahoo and one Yahoo Small Business. I have
set up both accounts on Outlook. I use Outlook 2003 at home and Outlook 2002
at work. I want to be able to move back and forth between the two. When I
leave home after working there, I export to a pst file and then import that
to my personal folder at work. I check off the box "replace duplicates with
items I import." Nonetheless, I get a copy of everything. This is not the
same problem as others are having (and not me yet, thankfully) of receving
duplicate email messages because all my contacts were duplicated (and those
contacts are not sent from my Yahoo account like the email is). Does anyone
know what I need to do to be able to synchronize without duplication?

- Outlook General >> 20 GB (Unicode) file...or NOT?Hi,
I just recently learned that older .PST files didn't automatically convert
to the newer Unicode format with the 20GB file size limit. This was after
almost losing a file that grew beyond the old 2GB limit. I've perfomed
the conversion according to instructions: make a new data file and IMPORT
all the items from the old .PST file. But since I'm now paranoid about
the whole area, is there some way to check that the new file actually is in
the new, larger format...short of waiting till it grows bigger than 2GB!
TIA.

- Outlook General >> New Mail sort in Search Folders (Outlook 2003)Our CIO would like to setup search folders to allow him to keep track of
certain projects he is working on. He would like to have the search folder
automatically sort so unread messages in the search will appear at the top of
the list of email. We have been unable to figure out a way to make outlook
2003 do this automatically.

- Outlook >> Problems caused by XP SP2After installing SP2 I discovered that when I tried to
send a message in Outlook, it was not being sent
immediately. The message would just sit in the Outbox
and not go anywhere. Also my Inbox isn't being updated
as soon as messages arrive in it, I have to actually
click somewhere in outlook to force it to send/receive my
messages.
There's an article about this problem on the Microsoft
website, but it just says that 'Microsoft has confirmed
that this is a problem' with no details of when or
whether they're doing anything about it.
The workaround they suggested is clicking on another
message or folder, which will send a remote procedure
call to the exchange server, which will cause the e-mails
to be sent. Not much good since I want to have outlook
running in the background, and be notified of new mails.
Does anyone have any sugestions/ideas for a more
permanent fix to this problem?
Cheers.
Rachel.
