- Outlook General >> Block senders?I am receiving an increasing amount of spam, (don't we all?) and would like
to set my mail to filter all mail from anyone NOT in my address book to go
to another folder. Is this possible, or do I need a third party software to
do this? Using Outlook XP Pro.

- Outlook >> Spell Check Icon - Outlook 2003I run Windows XP and have recently installed offcie 2003, and migrated in
process from Outlook Express to Outlook. I cannot seem to find a Spell
Checker Icon to add to my tool bar. I have used Microsoft for many years and
many versions and am probably classed as an Intermediate to Advanced user and
have never had a problem setting this up before. Any suggestions or advice
would be most appreciated

- Outlook General >> Font size smaller when reply.I run Outlook 2003 on my notebook. When I open a message from my inbox and

- Outlook >> Using OE as default email client for MS WordI was running MS Word only, using Outlook Express as my email program. I
installed MS Outlook, mainly to use the calendar feature. I set OE as my
default email program (in IE Internet Options), but everytime I right-click
on a Word document and use "Send To - Mail Recipient," it starts Outlook
instead of Outlook Express. The main problem is that it doesn't give me the
option of pulling from my OE Address Book.
How can I resolve this? And please don't suggest that I use Outlook for
email, although I know that is the overall best way. This computer is my
dad's, and he is very, very resistent to change, and he likes OE.
thank you,
jm

- Outlook General >> where are email addresses (history) stored that are not in addres.Hi there - I had to do a re-install and now do not have lost all the old
e-Mail address that were in the pull downs when typing in email addresses.
Type a and it bring them up and as you type it auto fills. These are old
e-Mail addresses from way back - not important enough to add but good history
when you need to get an old e-Mail. Can I find them - can I restor them and
if so how???
Thanks.
Rick.

- IE6&Outlook >> Spell checker in outlook.Since using Windows XP my spell checker in Outlook

saying: "an error occurred while the spelling was being
checked". I use Word 97 which I've re-installed a few
times now and it still wont work.

- Outlook General >> Outlook hangs during start-upI'm running Outlook 2002 over Windows XP Professional on
a Motion Computing M1200 tablet PC. Outlook hangs up
during opening it from either the desktop icon or the
Start menu. I have it configured to open with My Outlook
Today. It seems to open cleanly until the point at which
it loads the data (calendar items, tasks, e-mail), then
it hangs up. I've ended it using the Task Manager. On
the next attempt, it asked if I wanted to open in safe
mode. But, it hanged again. I can't use the "Detect &
Repair" function because it hangs before I can access the
menu items within Outlook. Any suggestions on how to
repair (without losing my data) would be most appreciated!

Outlook General >> Outlook keeps trying to send a message
My Outlook 2003 keeps trying to send a message and it times out and gives me
an error message. I can't figure it out. I cancel the outgoing message, but
then it will try to resend it again a couple minutes later. I deleted the
account and then set it back up again, hoping that this would solve the
problem, but it's doing to same thing. I use SBCGLOBAL.NET. Can anybody
help? Thanks!! Todd

tried uninstalling and reinstallling my Office 2003 and still can't get it
working.

- IE6&Outlook >> Transfered .dbx folder but they are empty!!I was able to correct the earlier message problem by
using Restore to get me back prior to last problem stated
(cannot open OE6 now after adding identity). I then made
sure that there was a folder called "Folders.dbx" on the
download to my desktop from CD. The Read Only was
unchecked on files. The import did place all the Local
Folder names into OE6 and they show up when I open OE6,
but there are NO FILES in any of the Local Folder!!!! I
have dowloaded the CD to my desktop, not the root
directory where all the .dbx files are stored, I have an
Explorer window open so I can see what is there. I had
tried previously to open these files using IE,, so they
all show the IE signature on each icon file, is this an
issue? Does OE6 now think it has to open these files with
IE? THe file sizes in the root directory are all minimum,
they do not match the file sizes on the desktop
downloaded CD file sizes, so only the folder "names" have
been imported, not the data. What did I do wrong ??
Thank you, DickJ65

- Outlook General >> Adding "send file link by e-mail" "Sent To" menuRight-clicking on any file in Windows Explorer or Desktop we have a Send To
menu which can be customized to have folder destination.
What I would like to have is an option in this menu to send a link to the
selected file by email. The file which is selected and right-clicked on is
located on the network file share or network drive so this has to be a link
to a network share.
Another option would be sending the same link to an online Windows Messenger
contact as an instant message.
I've unsuccessfuly tried to look for tips/plugins to solve this. This
feature would be really useful for collaboration in our office.
Did I come to the right place with this question? Is it possible to do? Can
anyone help me?
Thanks alot,
Ross

is there a way in the inbox when you have the reading pane at the bottom,
to change the fields shown at the top of the email.
right now in the reading pane i only see:

- Outlook General >> The browsing through Inbox is a lot slower since SP2. Why?It seems as if attachments of mails are now scanned immediately when simply
browsing top to bottom through my inbox (Reading Pane turned off!). When
browsing from top to bottom in my inbox with the cursor, mails with
attachments cause a delay. Mails with large attachments cause greater delays
than mails with small attachments. Mails without attachments do not cause any
delay in browsing. This is very irritating when you try to get from the top
message to a message at the end of the list.
This did not occur before I installed SP2 for Outlook 2003.
Does anyone know how this can be remedied?

- Outlook >> How do I search for foldlers within Outlook ?How do I search for folders within Outlook 2003, or
probably any other version also ?
For example I have a folder 'info' under Inbox.
If use find I get all of the mail items with the string
'info' but no folders.
I would like to see folders which match a particular
string, along with path not mail items.
I have tried Advanced find as well.
I found 'All Mail Fields' contains 'info'.
That did not work either.
This must be a common search. What am I missing ?
Thanks Very Much,

- Outlook General >> How do I change the view to show two months of calendar?I loved the look of my "old" Outlook 98, which was left to right, 2" of
folders, 5" showing today's calendar, then 4" showing the current month and
the next month's calendar, with my task list beneath it. I can't seem to get
the two months to show up on the right, only one month, with about 8" of my
daily calendar in the middle. I try to shrink the middle section, but can't
drag the edge to make it smaller.
Thank you for any help you can give me!

- Outlook General >> Strikethrough on Some Items in Repaired PST FileI recently attempted to access a PST with archived email on it and found that
I had to run the scanpst.exe to repair it. It repaired successfully, but
when I look at the messages in the folders, most of them appear with
strikethrough font. Some don't, however. I can open them all fine, so I'm
trying to:
a) Figure out why this is happening, and
b) Make the strikethough go away
Any ideas?

- Outlook Install >> inbox tool repair lost most recent 2 mos of emailsShort Version: After trying to access a .pst file from a cd, outlook 2003
asked me to scan the file with the inbox repair tool. Now all email from
January 20, 06 -March 23, 06 has disappeared. Everything else, files and
folders back to 1996 is all there apparently. [I also now have two personal
folders which I will try to deal with later.] Have I lost those sent and
received emails for good?
Long version: After discovering a trojan in my old desktop, I backed up
everything onto cd's. I have scanned and rescanned everything for viruses.
I copied the old outlook (ol2000, I think) files onto the disks as .pst
files. When I tried to access them with Outlook 2003 on my new laptop, I got
an error asking me to run the scanpst.exe, which I did. The file was only
about 600,000 bytes.
Then, after installing xp and office xp on the old desktop, I tried to
retrieve the same outlook data directly from the old location on the hard
drive and was asked to do the same repair. Now the files on both computers
no longer have those crucial months of emails. I do still have 2 copies of
the unadulterated cd's, though.

- Outlook >> Contact address fields Outlook 2002I've converted my Outlook 2000 contacts to Outlook 2002, the address
information seems not to be right.
The City-info is in the ZIP-field, the state info in the city-field and the
zipcode in the state-field. In the 'All fields'-tab the information is in
the right fields.
I've migrated from Outlook 2000 SP3 English to Outlook 2002 Dutch. It seems
some programmer/translator mixed up the addressfields in the
contactinformation-window. I need this information for my program. Is this
solved in a servicepack/upgrade, or is any workaround available?
