Cannot Close Outlook...please help

Hello, I have a very frustrating problem with Outlook 2003 on WinXP.



If I exit outlook via the FILE/EXIT function, the outlook incon shows up in

the Task Bar. I cannot access the icon on the task bar (either right click

nor left click).

If try to launch outlook again using the shortcut on the dektop I get an

error message:



THE OPERATION FAILED



I call the windows taks manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) and OUTLOOK is still runnig

as a PROCESS (not as an application). I have to kill the process in order to

launch outlook again.



I tried a repair, and Windows office update...nothing.



Any help is welcomed. Thanks in advance.
