- IE6&Outlook >> IFRAME does not appear in email after installing IE6 SP1If an HTML email contains an IFRAME, and is viewed in OE6 with security set
to restricted zone (the default), the IFRAME does not display at all if IE6
SP1 has been installed. Not only doesn't the IFRAME display, it doesn't
even display the alternative content that should be displayed when the
IFRAME is unsupported.
In IE6 and earlier versions the IFRAME appeared normally, in some cases with
a warning dialog box.
I can not find any reference to this bug on the net or MSKB. Does anyone
know anything about it?

- Calendaring >> Create recurring meeting on different daysI just moved from Lotus Notes to Office 2003. In Notes, I could create a
recurring meeting using custom dates. This was helpful for meetings with a
group of people where the first meeting might be on the first Thursday, the
second meeting on the second Tuesday, etc. Notes would allow you to select
Custom and enter the dates manually. Now I have to create all of the meeting
separately.

- Outlook >> Outlook 2003 using Word 2002I only updated Outlook 2003 and currently use Office 2002. The message
format does not provide Outlook 2003 with the option to use Microsoft Office
Word 2002. Is there a way to select Microsoft Office Word 2002 as a message
format?

- Outlook >> Can't copy outlook.ps to external hard driveI am using Office 2003 on Windows XP.
Periodically I copy oulook.ps to an external hard drive as a backup.
When I try to do it now, I get the message "Cannot copy outlook: The
process cannot access the file because another process has locked a
portion of the file."
I have rebooted, but that doesn't fix the problem.
By the way, the outlook.ps is large, slightly over 4 GB.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bill Edelstein

- Outlook General >> .HTMLBody -> Plaintext Problem SolutionDo not set .body anywhere in the function if you can help it. Setting
.htmlbody afterwards does reset the .editortype, but Outlook still
thinks it's being fed plaintext (or a multipart containing plaintext
if you attach something). When this happens, Outlook converts the HTML
of the .htmlbody into a plaintext .body.
If anyone knows how to set the content-type of an Outlook message
using VBA (without CDO), I would like to know.

- Outlook General >> My form disappeared??Hi
I created a template for one of our "standard requests" so as to ease the
pain of manually typing things up all the time. For some bizarre reason, my
system does not recognise this form this morning...it was working last week.
The same thing happened on another PC I had, so I decided it was time to
upgrade anyway.
All the controls on the form seem to have disappeared - but only on my PC
(at the moment anyway) and all I see is a normal "new mail message" form. A
registry entry to allow "one-off forms" was previously added for another
reason altogether.
Does anyone know why this would happen? I imagine I have an unregistered ocx
or dll somewhere, but I'm not certain...
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

- Calendaring >> MAJOR Q: Outlook Calendar at startupHello all,
I am new! I have a question about Office 2000 Outlook. The calendar,
email etc. functions are amazing - however - how can I get all my
calendar reminders for appointments etc. while not having outlook open?
Is this even possible? Also, I had Works calendar which had something
called wkcalrem.exe - does this sort of reminder (which loads at
startup and doesn't open the program) exist for Office 2000 Outlook?
Please help!!!
Thanks so much,
RJK

- Outlook Install >> retrieve email after network crashOur server went down and had to be reconfigured, but since then I have been
unable to access my personal folders and address book. I am using Outlook
2002 which is saved on the local workstation not the server - however since
the crash I can't access the my personal folders and address. I tried to
import the date file but couldn't see it, how can I view my data files which
existed before the crash.
Only the server went down not the workstation.

- Outlook >> Outlook 2003 inactivity fix for backup?Hello. We're using TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager) to run backups of our
desktops. For folks that leave their Outlook 2003 running, this presents a
problem, as it won't backup an open file.
I figure I have a couple of options:
1. Force TSM to backup open files. Will this lead to a corrupt PST file,
incapable of restoring properly?
2. I know there was a registry key to unlock the PST file after a certain
amount of inactvity. Is there something appropritate for Outlook 2003?
Any insight would be great. Thanks!

- Calendaring >> Edit view of appointments (TimeCard)I have installed TimeCard for Outlook v4 and want to change the way that my
appointments are shown in my Calendar. At present, the 'subject' line shows
when I view appointments (one day).
TimeCard has an option to automatically populate the Outlook 'subject' field
with the 'customer' and 'task' information, but as I want to export the
'subject' field into TimeCard, I'd rather be able to use that to enter data
regarding the appointment in that field.
I would like to use the TimeCard fields (customer, task) in the view,
instead of the Outook field (subject).
Also, is it possible to change the order of the tab fields so that it first
goes to the TimeCard 'customer' field, then the TimeCard 'task' field, then
the Outlook 'subject' field?

Outlook General >> New Office 2007 Outlook bug
Any other mail scanning tools installed or add-ins? Disable them all as they
are most likely incompatible with Outlook 2007.
"There is any way to uninstall and go back to previos version without
pain...?"
Format your computer, reinstall everything and start of with a new pst-file
is the correct answer on this one. All other methods are unsupported as we
are talking about BETA software here. There have been warning signs all over
the place not to use this version in production environments. Even
downgrading from Outlook 2007 on your current installation of Windows XP is
an unsupported configuration.

- IE6&Outlook >> Can not open attachmentsI just notiuced that I cannot open most of my
attachments. Even old ones that I have opened on another
computer that I have imported to the a new one.
Some attachments open by themselves, and I can see or
read them. The ones that need to clicked on do not open.
When I double click on the attachment the following
message is there: " OE removed access to the following
unsafe attachment". In one case I had read and opened
the attachment on my ISP server, but could not open it

- Outlook General >> PLEASE HELP! Outlook 2003 hangs at 11.9 kb when downloading messaI am running xp pro with office 2003 and my recieving of email is getting
frustrating. 95% of the time the statis of my download will stop at 11.9kb
and time out. I have the time out setting at 10min already and I have tried
creating a new .pst file. I am not running exchange server. I have tried
turning off all of my McAfee services with no change. It seems like Outlook
gets stuck in a 127.0.0.1 loop but I can' t find where that can be changed.
All of my account data is good and have tried creating new profiles. I have
posted questions before with no response on this group and my ISP and McAfee
tech support has not been helpful.

- Outlook General >> Open mail message problemHi,
I am having problem opening mail message in outlook, it take longer time to
open even though the mail size is very small, it seems that it is trying to
search for some programs or links before opening the mail. This problem still
persist even I have re-install the entire MS office.
Typically the mail message can be open within split 1-2 seconds, now it
takes about 10 to 15 seconds. I have even disable the word editing function
and it still does not have any effect. I am still using Outlook 2000, via MS
Exchange server
Can anyone help me on this?
