Replying to incoming emails
Outlook539
I have two email addresses. Most of my mail uses only one of them but when I reply to these my second email address automatically appears in the 'From' area. Why is this? My settings for my Mail Account are: pop3.uk.worldonline.com (this is for my default account) and pop3.uk.worldonline.com (1) Any advice welcomed. - |

Re:Replying to incoming emails
This doesn't seem to be the case.
For example, I receive an email addressed to me as mpickup@colyford.screaming.net, this is my principal email address. If I Reply Group or Reply or Forward, my From address appears as colyford@colyford.screaming.net. If I receive an email addressed to me as apickup@colyford.screaming.net I still get the From address in my Reply showing as colyford@colyford.screaming.net. I set up the apickup address just now as a test. Does this mean that if OE automatically chooses to reply from the account that received the message that all my incoming mails are being received by my colyford@colyford.screaming.net address although the actual emails show the address as mpickup@colyford.screaming.net? Re:Replying to incoming emails
Have solved the problem by removing the colyford@colyford.screaming.net
address and then adding it back again. It's weird why this sort of approach works in so many computer problems. Thanks for your interest. Mike "Frank Saunders, MS-MVP IE/OE" <franksaunders@mvps.org>wrote in message Quote"Mike" <mpickup@colyford.screaming.net>wrote in message - |

Re:Replying to incoming emails
Your current Identity may be damaged, especially if its the default Main
Identity. Try one or more of your accounts in a new Named Identity (File>Identities>Add new identity). Assuming all is well, import messages from the old Identity before deleting it (File>Identities>Manage Identities). -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE) Mike wrote: QuoteHave solved the problem by removing the colyford@colyford.screaming.net |

Re:Replying to incoming emails
If the 2 e-mail addresses are the same server mail box (same settings at Tools, Accounts,
Mail, Properties, Servers for POP3 server and Account Name), then either OE account might download all the messages. For Replies and forwards OE will use the account that downloaded the messages. By deleting and adding the account back, OE may have changed which one downloads the messages. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Mike" <mpickup@colyford.screaming.net>wrote in message QuoteHave solved the problem by removing the colyford@colyford.screaming.net address and then - |
