- Contact >> Importing CSV File - to address book under main identitiesI am trying to export a csv file to a address book (folder) that is under
main identities. I have the one that I am importing to highlighted and the
import works, but it is putting it in main identities area. The mapping on
the address book looks like this:
Shared Contacts
-Main Identity's Contacts
--April 01, 2003
--August 25, 2005
--June 23, 2004
--March 18, 2002
--May 11, 2005#2
--September 28, 2005
All the addresses that I have imported for the last week have gone under the
Main Identity's Contacts, instead of the September 28, 2005 folder. We need
to track e-mails addresses that have come in from 9/28/2005 on until we start
another folder for 2006. How do I import to this folder instead of having all
the imports go to the Main Identity's contacts?
Thanks June

advise.

- Outlook >> Sharing outlook contacts between several workstationsHi all !
We've got a problem sharing our outlook contacts amongst about 2
workers.
We've got Office 2000 on Windows 2000- resp. Windows XP-Workstations
We've used so far NetFolders, but they don't seem to work anymore sinc
I tried to add some users and it won't let me add more then 20 users.
Anyway, in later versions of Office than Office 2000 NetFolders aren'
supported anymore, so we were looking for other solutions.
At the moment we've got a central .pst-File containing the contact
which is copied locally to each workstation by a batch-file once a wee
started by a scheduled task. The problem here is, that there are severa
users who let their Outlook open over night or over the weekend becaus
they have to work on them the next day so they won't forget it, so whe
the copying operation is finished, in most of the cases the (local

is asking where to get the data from, I mark the "Outlook contacts" field and

"contacts" field in Outlook so I choose that one (I have Outlook open,
Working Offline and have the contacts folder open.). When I proceed to the
next step where I get the table of information - the fields are fields that
would be in my Inbox, not my Contacts folder. I am trying to get the Last
Name, First Name, Address, Home Phone number to show up.

- Outlook Install >> New PC, New OL 2003 - wrong sender of email?I just helped a buddy build a new PC. TOTALLY new stuff. No old hard drives
or *.pst files brought from old PC. It has Windows XP Pro and Office 2003
installed on it.
We configured a junk POP3 account he keeps in his back pocket and used the
'test account' function in ACCOUNTS. The mail we get back has HIS email
(let's say Bill@isp.net) address as the sender but his wife's name (say
Jane) as the displayed sender. Naturally he doesn't want to send mail to
folks that seems to come from her. --- I've looked at the email account and
only HIS name is on it.
Although he THINKS we created a user account (admin?) for her when we set
the machine up, I can only find HIS admin account when I look in the
ACCOUNTS area of the CONTROL PANEL. He thinks that her name is getting
pulled from her account we made when we installed WinXP Pro. I think maybe,
but possibly elsewhere.
Questions: Where IS her name coming from? How do I get HIS name displayed as
the sender?
Thanks for any help!

- IE6&Outlook >> MSN chatThe MSN chat logo appears on the toolbar at the bottom. When I right click it
says 'signing in' but when I try to click it to open MSN messenger, nothing
happens, other than that the logo disappears. I have two computers. MSN chat
works on the desktop model but not on the laptop which is connected with a
wireless system (wanadoo livebox). Both computers have problems with Outlooks
express. I have posted a question on that subject elsewhere in this site.
Neither can I get photos form my camera onto the computer directly into Mis
Imagenes, only using tha Casio-photo loader which is totally inadequate for
my purposes. All these, says French wanadoo, are windows problems! Outlook
was a problem in Spain as well, so I am a hotmail and google.mail user, but
MSN chat and the photos were never any problem.

- Outlook General >> Need to repair a fileSystem died and needed to be rebuilt. Most recent copy of outlook.pst was
open at the time and is on the backup source as ~outlook.pst.tmp. I have
tried the following:
Inport contents
add additional data file
changed the name to outlook.pst
attempted repair using scanpst.exe
All had the same result - outlook will not recognize the file as a PST and
will not continue.
Any suggestions on how I can convert this file to the .pst format outlook
2007 is expecting?

Dr Bill

- IE6&Outlook >> Big FileI tried to send a file with some big attachments (total of ~ 400mb). Every
time I try to send it OE hangs up. It even hangs up when I visit the
Outbox. I have to close OE with ctrl>alt>del.
I have broadband with a cable modem.
Is the big file the problem? If so how can I delete it? I can't send or
receive anything since OE tries to send the big file first, hanging up.
Thanks

- Outlook General >> Stubborn taskpad row heading fontIn Taskpad view, I changed my task row headings font and tasks font to bold,
decided I didn't like the look and changed it back to regular. But when I

re-start Outlook, the task row font ALWAYS reverts back to bold! By "task
row" font, I have the categories as task row headers.
Any ideas how I correct this stubborn font problem where the correct taskpad
row font isn't in place after closing and re-opening Outlook?

- Contact >> Contact Notes & Journal archiveI am not a real Outlook expert however I do keep journal comments on my
contacts as I speak with them. I have been doing this for several years and
at some I beleive an auto archive occurred. As such there are journal

or current section of my outlook journal in the folder list. In addition
searching for activities within my contacts do not show all of the journal
entries I have made. Do these somehow get purged by the system? Does
archiving do something to these that I am not aware of? I would like to be
able to view some of mynotes from a year or two ago on some contacts and I
dont know where else to look...

- Outlook General >> Keep the Favorite Folders intact in my Outlook!I use version 2003 (11.8010.6568) SP2.
Every now and then (at least a few times every month) my Favorite Folders
setup are spoiled by Outlook. I reselect the folders I want to display there
and after one week or so Outlook removes almost all or at least most of them
so I have to build it up again. I guess something happens at shut down of
Outlook but if no changes has been made in the Favorites Folder, could not
the latest succesful setting be used instead of "resetting" the setting?
Thx!
