- Outlook General >> Why are some email rules not working? Some of my email rules are not working. I have 'stop processing rules'
enabled. I have also posted this question three times and have not had a
response yet which is very frustrating. I thought Microsoft products and
service were better than this....

- Contact >> Outlook should not choose contacts from itsown "memory" first ...Some people find it frustrating that Outlook does not suggest contacts
directly from the Contacts Folders as per the settings in "Address
Book"/Tools/Options/"check names from the ..."
Why does Outlook actually suggest from what seems to be his own database of
contacts recently/frequently used.
Could one turn that feture off?

- Outlook General >> Multi-person TaskI have a task that requires serveral people to execute a series of steps in
order, before the task gets routed to the next person.
What I would like to do is create a checklist that can get routed from
person to person as steps get completed.
So, here's what I would like
Step1 Johndoe@microsoft.com
Step2 Janedoe@microsoft.com
Step3 Someelse@microsoft.com
So, the first person to get the task would be John Doe, when he completed
the task, it would get sent to Jane, when she completed the task, on to
someoneelse etc.
Is this possible? Does it require a major effort to setup?
Thanks,
David

- IE6&Outlook >> oe no longer asking for password on opeing (plus another thing)OK! I know this sounds weird but Outlook Express 6 has
suddenly stopped asking for the password to log into the
program, even though the identity i'm using requires a
password. It does require a password to send and receive
mail, but I'd prefer to have it at the front door, not
once other co-workers are already in!
Also, and this may not in any way be related, at the same
time that this started happening I noticed a microsoft
document that is created each day on my desktop. It has
this name "~" (without the quotes) and appears to be about
1.46 mb. It doesn;t appear everyday, but most days. I
really don't know if the two have anything to do with each
other, but I'm a little paranoid about it. I've done
several virus sweeps but have found nothing. Anyone ever
seen either of these things before?
Thanks,
Debbie

- Outlook General >> Toggling FormattingHello!
When I receive messages in different formats (*.rtf, *.html, *.txt), is
there a way to keep my reply in one format without changing that format.
Reason I'm asking is this:
I receive a message in Plain text format. I have a signature in rich text
format that has formatting. When I respond to that Plain text formatted
message and change the reply format to rich text, it doesn't maintain the
rich text formatting i want it to maintain. Any way I can get my formatting
to stick?
Thanks!

Outlook General >> Outlook Today Task List Corrupted with Recurring Tasks
Hi,
I have Outlook 2000 SP3 on Windows 2000 SP4. Very
recently my Outlook Today page has started cramming the
tasks list into the far right away from the checkboxes.
I've done some testing and discovered that this only
happens with recurring tasks in the list. But not
always. :)
Some recurring tasks can be created and not create a
problem, but then the same recurring task can be created
and make the problem appear.
Other things I've tried include: detect and repair
outlook, customize outlook today and pick a new format,
delete all tasks and add them back.
Help appreciated,
Thanks
Chris

- Outlook General >> Creating a new appointment and the OLE RegistryI just got Office Enterprise a few days ago. I was running Outlook '03
previously. When I was using '03, I never had a problem entering in a new
appointment. However, now when I try to enter in a new appointment, I get an
error message saying "An error occurred registering the form in the OLE
Registry." I've tried building a new .pst file and I've also ran Office
Diagnostics and the Repair utility on the DVD, with no luck. Am I missing
something here?

- Calendaring >> Outlook 2007 and Business Contact Manager - Calendar appointment problemWhen I create an appoinment (meeting) by selecting my business contact
in Business Contact Manager I can create an appointment and it appears
in my calendar. The problem is that when I look at my calendar and
open the appointment I see everything I typed in but have no idea who
the appointment is for. Am I missing something here?
If I go to the history of the client in Business contact manager I see
the appointment but I would always have to remember who every
appointment is for.
I need to open my appointment in the calendar and see who the
apppointment is for.
I must be missing something obvious (I am new to outlook).
Any suggestions.

- Outlook >> Type Network Password keeps coming up when send or receive emailOur corporate office installed spam filtering software
today. I am at remote site. I had to use different SMTP
and now Outlook wants a network password. I type it in
but it won't save it and keeps coming back up. Sometimes
mail still goes out, and I think comes in as well, but I
don't know. How do I get that logon screen to go away?
Also, I bought the computer in mid 2002 and don't know if
this is Outlook 2000 or 2002. How do I know? Act! says it
is an old version and needs to be updated, but it was
installed by Dell at the same time.

- Outlook General >> Can "Search Folders" work on Public FoldersI can't figure out how to set up a Search Folder to include content in a Public Folder. Is this possible in Outlook?
Our company has us put all mail to save in a "personal" Public Folder instead of the "Vault". I would like to use a Search Folder to help organize all the messages that I'm putting in this single flat Public Folder.
Thanks for any help.

- Outlook General >> Attachments in Outlook Express cause error. In accessing received mail with attachments, I can open the email but, when
trying to open the attachments I receive an error. I have been reading that
some attachments in Outlook will do that due to security however, it is
happening on all attachments (ie .xls, .wpd., etc). Once this happens, I am
prompted to send the error report and then am completely booted out of the
Outlook Express program.
I am very frustrated. I use the email for business and the attachments are
important.

- Outlook >> unable to delete calendar or appointments - "unknown error"After having some problems trying to sync my Dell Axim PDA
with Outlook 2002 (using Win 2K and ActiveSync), and
getting multiple incorrect entries, I tried to delete my
Outlook calendar and contacts so that I could reinstall
them from the correct files in my Axim by syncing as a new
connection. I found, however, that each time I try to
delete even one entry, I get a message that says "The
messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the
problem persists, restart Outlook". How can I fix this
error, so that I can delete the entries from Outlook?
Replacing the Outlook.pst file is not an option, because
of all the email saved in it, and the accounts and message
rules that I've set up.

- Outlook General >> highlight search termsIs it possible to have Outlook highlight/bold (or at least draw attention to)
the keywords used when making a search.? It's so time consuming to have to
scan through a long chain of conversations to find a specific topic.
Also, is there a way to make the default search search the body of the email
rather than just the subject. I always have to go to advanced search to do
this.
TIA,
Matt

- Calendaring >> The item could not be saved because it has been changed by another"The item could not be saved because it has been changed by another user or
in another window. Do you want to make a copy in the default folder for the
item?"
I cannot believe this has not been a problem for anyone else in the entire
MS community. Am I really the first one to post the error?
The Hotfix mentioned in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883915/en-us does
not always work either. MS needs to step up here.
