- Outlook General >> Schedule to send an email without using exchange serverI would like to know if there is a way to set up Outlook 2003 to send an
email at a specific time rather than WHEN you hit the send button. Such as
writing a love letter to your wife and having it sent to her while I am gone
from home on a trip to another city or state. I do not mind having to look in
to third-party software if need be. I appreciate any and all help with this
question, thank you.

- Outlook >> Odd issue with adding a contact to a shared contact folderHello! I'm hoping you all will have an answer for this, I surely dont.
I'm in an environment running all Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2003. All
are set up for an exchange server locally. Here is my situation. A
boss has shared his contacts with his secretary, so she can modify,
add, etc...however an odd problem has come up. Occasionally, she will
type in a contact, that not only can she not see on her computer
(looking at his shared contacts) but he cannot see on his computer
(looking at his local contacts). I wouldn't think so much if it did it
every time - but it just does it sometimes. There seems to be no rhyme
or reason to it. The contacts are not marked as private, and to double
check I gave her rights to see his private contacts. Nothing worked.
Just occasionally when she adds a contact, it disappears into never
never land. I've watched her do it - everything is being done
correctly. Some work, some dont. Any ideas? Client issue? Server
issue? Help help!

- Outlook General >> Rules wizard putting my "new" mail into my delete fileSomehow I messed up w/Rules Wizard and all my incoming mail is going into my
Delete file. I've tried numerous times w/Rules Wizard to correct by trying to
modify, delete, etc. this rule and I'm doing something wrong, as it continues.
Can someone guide me step-by-step to what actions need to be taken?
Thanks.

- Outlook >> Outlook 2000, large pst file slow to open or corruptHi, this is a very frustratring problem I hope someone canhelp us with. I've
established that the outlook.pst file is either too large of corrupt. I've
run scanpst which found no problem, the pst file is 2gb! should this cause a
problem?
I can't reduce the size of the file, although is will open, it won't let me
delete of move anything or even archive - reporting that it can;t access the
pst file although I can open it and browse contacts and messages (it's very
slow doing this though)
How can I reduce the size of this file in another way?

- Outlook Install >> Installation errorI have a Toshiba pocket PC which came with software for MS
Outlook 2000. When attempting to load the software on my
desktop the error #1311, MS/Outlook\OFFICE.1CAB appears
and the software will not load. My desktop has pre-
installed Outlook express (with the MS Office Package) and
is running on the Windows 2000 platform. The installation
CD is good, I also possess a copy of Office 2000 and in
an attempt to load Outlook from that CD experienced the
same error.
Suggestions please.
P.S. In looking through the supplied CD the CAB file is
there.

- Outlook >> How export all mailbox-enabled users from the GAL using Outlook?Hello,
We have a user which, for administrative reasons, needs to export all
mailbox-enabled users in the GAL now and then. They just need all the
names. Is there a straightforward way for them to do that?
We don't want to give them any special permissions and want to avoid
server scripting. Ideally, they should be able to export it to a CSV
file or any text file.
Thanks,
- Alan.

- Outlook Install >> Inability to launch applicationRecently Outlook refuses to launch. The error message does not state specifically what is causing the proble. I have tried the repair utility in windows XP. I finally uninstalled Office completely and then re-installed it with the same lack of results. I did have a virus on my computer, but it was suposedly removed successfully. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

A) move an accepted meeting to a new calendar (a sub calendar of mine)

- Outlook General >> Sending links in email messageFor years I have used outlook express but just recently I
upgraded to outlook. I am trying to send a link in an
email but outlook will not allow me to do so it says it is
blocking potentially harmful attachments. I got to the
webpage I want to send and click on "file" "send"
and "link by email". This always worked in express but it
is being blocked in outlook. I can't find any setting to
change to allow this. How do I fix this???
Thanks for your help

Outlook General >> Outlook warning
I am getting an Outlook warning 'A PROGRAM is trying to
automatically send an email on your behalf, Do you want to allow this? If
this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose "no".
When I hit HELP it gives me this item, 'A program is trying to send mail
using Item.Send but does not tell me how to turn it off.'
I use this send PROGRAM regularly and never got this message. HOW DO I
TURN IT OFF. Thanks Billy

You don't turn it off. If you're seeing this when you try to send mail and
you're using Word as your mail editor, chances are it's Adobe Acrobat
producing the error. Your solutions are to update Acrobat to the current
version or remove the PDFMaker add-in. See
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2002sp3.htm#acrobat for some help on
that.
Also see http://www.outlookcode.com/d/sec.htm for your options with respect
to Outlook's Object Model Guard and http://www.mapilab.com/outlook/security
for a tool that can help.

Here are your choices:=20
1) Live with the prompts.=20
2) Get someone to rewrite the database program for you so that it uses a =
mail sending technique that avoids the prompts.
3) Use one of the tools at the sites Brian suggested to minimize the =
prompts' intrusion.=20
#2 is the most secure, most functional choice, but is also likely to be =
the most costly.

- Outlook General >> OE/Hotmail emails - senders name changed to spaces/plus signsHello all,
This is a strange one.
Emails sent from OE via a Hotmail account are having the senders name
changed to plus signs - for instance, "John Smith" is changed to:-
"++++ +++++". This happens in both the email header and the body of
the text, so if the sender types:-
Regards,
John
the following is received:-
Regards,
++++
If sent from Hotmail itself, the same happens *except* the space
character is substituted instead of the plus sign.
Ring any bells with anyone?
TIA.

- Outlook General >> Gmail and Outlook 2003Does anyone have a non-techie solution to this one?
I'm using gmail and Outlook 2003 and have bee trying to use the stationary
feature but when I send a message the recipient recieves the background as a
.jpg attachment. and the logo as well, although the custome fonts I used did
come through. At first I was using Word as my mail editor but then someone
told me to use HTML so I did that but the background still came through as
.jpg attachment and the logo came through in the body of email, but
completely distorted and in the wrong position. My business is
designer-related so the look of my emails is important and I need to get this
right. I would appreciate anyone's immediate help.
