- Outlook General >> Reminder DelaysI know when I set an alarm for a task r appt., I can set it for say, four
hours. This would mean that the alarm would go off four hours before the
actual event scheduled time.
If, when the reminder activates, I then delay it, say, for four hours, is
that four hours from "now" or four hours before the event time?
The first instance of setting is relative to "before the event", right?
Whereas, the second, a pause, is measured going forward from that pause time,
yes?

- Outlook >> Outlook (2003) losing my emails, and contacts problemHi.
I have had this setup working fine for some time now.
Iuse microsoft active sync to syncronise my contacts and

Suddenly today I stopped receieving emails. I realised
that outllok was still sownloading them but they do not
appear anywhere (i did several tests to confirm this)
Then activesync said that it couldn't syncornise my
calender or contacts as I didn't have them installed!
I checked oulook yes its all still their.
I removed activesync, and installed the latest version
from microsoft site. didn't help. so its a outlook problem
I check my view settings in outlook all normal.
So - newly recieved emails disappear on receipt.
and some how the calender, and contacts have become
corrupted for other programs.
How do I fix this, without re-installing outlook?

- Outlook >> Outlook2003: Display rules disappear (Tools/Organize/Colors/Automatic..)Hi all,
Some help needed re rules created in Tools/Organize/Colors/Automatic..:
Those rules disappear randomly and without obvious reason. Some of them move
to an other folder, where they are useless.
Is there any way to save/restore those rules in order to avoid rekeying
everything again and again?
Where are they located? Are they accessible?
Thanks for your help,

- Outlook Install >> Sharing Calendars without ExchangeHi - I work in a small office enviornment with 5 PC's using Outlook2003. We
are trying to work out a way to share our calendars , online in real time
using outlook. We were directed to the internet free/busy feature in outlook
which 'appears' to be exactly what we need.
I am having a few troubles trying to configure it however. We have our own
win2003 server which we can use to upload our vfb files to however we cant
seem to find out how to configure the system and get it going? Does anyone
know if you need to have exchange installed? We dont have exchange and are
just trying to share our calendar information. Surely it cant be that hard to
do can it??
Thanks in advance.

Outlook General >> Blue Screen at shutdown
I'm trying to help a friend diagnose and fix a problem on his 3 year old
Dell running WindowsME. When he shuts down, he gets a blue screen. If he
tries to clear it, it locks up and he has to just shut the power off. He has
gone through and cleared all of the programs that launch at startup and
thinks the problem may be due to Outlook, but is not completely certain.
Dell Tech Support agrees that perhaps is't a corrupted Outlook file, but
again, not certain. I am posting this to the windowsme.general forum as
well, but thought I'd ask here just in case anybody recognizes the problem.
Any suggestions regarding the source of the problem and a fix would be
useful. He has considered format and reinstall, or even possibly replace ME
with XP, but since it's an older machine and probably won't be used more
than another year or two, he'd rather not go to those lengths if there is a
simpler solution and fix.
Is it possible to uninstall Outlook and reinstall it with any hope of a
clean enough uninstall without needing to manually clear the registry, then
reinstall just Outlook, with any hope of clearing it - assuming it is
associated with Outlook? If so, is there a web site that gives a
step-by-step process of backing up address book and message stores as there
is for Outlook Express?
Thanks for your help!

- Outlook General >> Help for OutlookI have just upgraded to Outlook2000. However when I run it I get a message
'
your computer has been upgraded from Windows 95 or Windows 98 to a later
version of Windows. Outlook must configure itself for this later version of
Windows.' I have also recently changed to Windows XP. However when I click
OK it goes looking for a Microsoft Office SR-1 disk that I do not have?
Anyway the next message is that the path cannot be found even though it is
looking on the Office 2000 CD and looking for a file data1.msi that is
present. I then get a message to say that it is not a valid installation
package and asks that I find the file 'data1.msi' in a folder Microsoft
office SR-1?
Any ideas?

- Outlook General >> Outlook cannot load or install ActExt.dllWinXP Pro, Office 2003 Pro. All updates installed.
I recently installed Norton System Works. Now, when I open Outlook, I get
this Alert Msg: The add-in "c:\WINDOWS\System32\ActExt.dll" could not be
installed or loaded. This problem may be resolved by using Detect and Repair
on the Help menu.
I ran Detect and Repair successfully. It did not correct the problem. The
referenced dll is in the System32 folder. Outlook operations appear to
function normally. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to correct this?

- Outlook General >> Outlook should wait when connecting to multiple accounts on imapseWhen you have multiple e-mail accounts on the same imap server, Outlook tries
to connect to all of them at the same time. There should be some seconds to
wait before hammering the imap server (3 accounts on the same server is
enough to give you the last 2 mailboxes offline, because the server doesn't
allow this much connection at the same time).

- Outlook >> pst file appears emptyHello all!
I have a 450 MB pst file, that appears empty in OL98.
I have run scanpst several times, did not help.
I changed the first byte of the file from 21 to 00 with a hex editor and ran
scanpst, it did report errors, fixed them and still no help.
I tried exmerge, which reported succesful import, but did not actually
retrieve anything from the pst file.
Mdbvu32 also shows that the stuff is in there.
It seems that the problem is quite common, but does anyone have
a solution, how to fix it.
Please help!
