Frontpage in other languages

Web Programming427
I suspect this isn't the right newsgroup - please point me elsewhere as

appropriate.

I am a PC database developer who's comfortable enough in FrontPage and

in HTML to maintain a few web sites. I need to develop a site, for

which I will likely create most of the content myself, in Hebrew, to be

displayed on a .il web site. Can I use FrontPage on my otherwise

American XP machine to do this? If so, what, if anything, do I need to

do? I believe I've already installed something Hebrew-specific because

most .il web pages display correctly on my machine.

I am currently using FrontPage 2002 SP3, which, if it's not the latest,

is something I can easily upgrade to the latest.

Thanks in advance.

Re:Frontpage in other languages

Hi Steve:

You'll probably want your HTML tag to be <html lang="he">and include this

meta tag: <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="he">- the FP spell

checker should work better for you and identifying the language will help

with search engines.

Re:Frontpage in other languages

Thanks very much for your prompt reply, Kathleen. I have a few simple

questions - how, e.g., do I input Hebrew, as opposed to English? I've

never done this before and have never used either Frontpage or any word

processing program in another language - I guess some of my questions

are rather general to the nature of using a second language on an XP

machine but I don't know how is that and how much is FP-specific.

Re:Frontpage in other languages

Hi Steve:

I don't know how you would actually input the text - I've been doing some

pages in Spanish -

www.cthealthpolicy.org/action/news/200406_espanol.htm">www.cthealthpolicy.org/action/news/200406_espanol.htm but I got the

text from my customer in Word and just pasted it into FrontPage.

I do see a group on this server called:

microsoft.public.il.hebrew.webdevelopers you might try asking there.

I just looked up this newsgroups - it's on my news server but it's very

low traffic, perhaps a couple of dozen messages all year. Still, I hope

it works out.

Thanks again for you assistance.
