MSMDSRV.EXE using 99% of CPU post Win2k SP4

Web Programming2
I just installed Windows 2000 SP4 on a SQL server machine. Upon

rebooting the machine, MSMDSRV.EXE was consuming 99% of the CPU, and

the machine was extremely slow responding to anything. Stopping the

IIS Admin service would bring the CPU usage back down. Everything I

have read regarding MSMDSRV.EXE seems to be related to SQL server, and

the IIS. Uninstalling IIS will rectify the problem, but I

need IIS also. Any ideas what is going on?

Thanks a lot...

That is the OLAP service. Have you installed the latest Service Pack (3a)

for the SQL Server and OLAP services? You could be experiencing Slammer.

Also, do any ASP pages submit queries to the OLAP service? It could be that

there is logic that is just driving a lot of CPU usage.
