My new desktop short cuts are not working

"application not found" I must have deleted the application to make short

cuts. My old short cuts on the desktop continue to work.

To make a shortcut>Start>Programs>Right-click on the program you want to

shortcut to>Send To>desktop Shortcut



The shortcuts you don't want on your desktop, righ-click>delete

Thanks for the response. Making a short cut to the desktop for a progam works

fine. The trouble I'm having is making a short cut for a web site. The web

site url will be place on the desk top,but the icon (pattern or view) is

like one when your computer cannot find the application for a particular

program. The web site will open, but a dilogue box also appears on the desk

top saying windows cannot find the particular web site.
