Windows Vista >> webcam support? Does Windows Vista have any built-in webcam support?

Drivers?
Monitoring Software?

I have a webcam but i'm reluctant to install software that is not
essential - the software that came with it is too crappy but i can't find
any Microsoft webcam software in Windows Vista ( Premium) - i was a bit
suprised that Win Movie Maker doesn't support webcam input

Windows Vista17

Windows Vista >> webcam support? Have you tried hooking up the web cam and then just see what Vista does about it?

Windows Vista >> webcam support? Nope, that is the responsibility of the hardware developer to provide with
their product. Products such as Windows Live Messenger or Yahoo Messenger
include web cam support, but no drivers.

I might be wrong, but I think you once mentioned you have Roxio
software. If so, that may have what you need. I have Roxio Creator Basic
v9. When you start that, under Home there's Applications. When you click
that, it lists "Media Import" under the "utilities". Media Import can
record from a webcam (assuming of course that the webcam *driver* is
already installed, mine just uses a Microsoft provided driver). If you
want, you can view the recorded video with WMP (or with Media Import
itself).

I hope this helps.
