Windows Explorer question
Windows Vista9
When I right click the Start button and then click EXPLORE, I get the below path in the window that opens. How can I change the path that is opened to something else? Here's what I get: C:\Users\My Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu Here's what I prefer: Desktop - |

Re:Windows Explorer question
Create a shortcut(s) to wherever you want Explorer to open.

Re:Windows Explorer question
Hi, jcmgn.
You are getting what you are supposed to be getting. This is the way you explore and manage your Start Menu. What is it that you really want? To see your Desktop, by minimizing all open programs? (Try Win+M.) Or to see the folder: QuoteC:\Users\My Name\Desktop C:\Users\Public\Desktop I'm not sure how to change this Start Menu | Explore behavior, because that is working as intended: to Explore the Start Menu folder. Could you explain what you are trying to do? RC -- R. C. Re:Windows Explorer questionHi R.C., Thanks for the comments. Basically, I dislike that when I click exlpore, I have to navigate backwards to where I want exlporer to begin. I was just hoping there would be a setting that I could set the default path to without having to create a desktop shortcut. Thanks, Joe "R. C. White" wrote: QuoteHi, jcmgn. |

Re:Windows Explorer question
You only need to create the shortcut once. Then drag it to the taskbar or
start button. Do you find that too difficult? "jcmgn" <jcmgn@discussions.microsoft.com>wrote in message Quote

Re:Windows Explorer question
So ... when you tell Windows to open Explorer at your Start Menu, you don't
really want Windows to open Explorer at your Start Menu...? If you right click on your Desktop folder and click on "Explore", amazingly that is where Explorer will open up to.
