Windows Media Player Error. Help!

Windows Vista32
I am getting the following error whenever I try to play an MP3:

"Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you

might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy

settings might not be correct."

This came out of the blue and I don't know what to do to fix it. Any help

would be greatly appreciated. My email is cherylockholmes@aol.com. Thanks

much!

Re:Windows Media Player Error. Help!

i've been having the same problem as well! i've tried everything from

downloading alternative media players to reinstalling all my video drivers

and codecs and things... windows media player used to work for me, but now i

can't get movies, music, or dvds to play at all. i'm tired of it, and i'm

opting to clean out my computer and install windows xp instead.

i don't know what else to suggest other than going back to xp.

Click the "Web Help" button on that dialog - what *URL* does it take you to?

The URL is the location in the browser's address bar.

Do WMA files still work correctly?
