2nd display wont show widescreen picture.

Windows Vista13
I have my normal 19" windscreen monitor and I have a 42" LCD TV connected via

an s-video cable. I can't get a widescreen picture on the LCD. It displays

my background picture cut-off at the sides with black bars. I am thinking

that it might have something to do with the s-video connection. I was going

to buy a DVI/Component video converter and try it.

Have you got your 42" LCD to show wide screen WITHOUT connecting it to

your computer? Most TVs have some setup option to go from 4/3 to wide

screen. It has NOTHING to do with the S video connection.

Yes I have. I also have a xbox 360, when I use it as an extender (which I

don't like to do because I feel it will wear out) media center shows up in

widescreen. It is only when I use it as a second monitor.
