icon for c: drive

Windows Vista17
i tried to install a game - 'teenage ninja mutant turtles demo' - from a mag

DVD and when it asked for the destination directory, i put c:\, but instead

of the game installing, i realized that the icon for c:\ drive'd changed to a

TMNT face. i located that icon to the c:\windows\support folder as an autorun

file. the game itself was nowhere to be found on searching. on trying to

delete this icon, there was no icon for the c: drive in 'computer'. pl advise

me how do i get rid of this stupid icon and restore the original c: drive

icon. i've vista home premium as OEM OS in my HP Pavilion PC.

TIA

Re:icon for c: drive

Hey arvind--

How 'bout ole system restore? If you have the DVD that gives you 6

locations from which to try SF from: F8 has several safe modes/the Recovery

link from the dvd/typing restore into the Vista search box.

If SR doesn't work, you can try a startup repair to fix this if you have the

Vista DVD.

Re:icon for c: drive

Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.

That is the easy way to get there, lol.

Re:icon for c: drive

The easiest way to get there is to type restore into the search box and

click it when it pops up. My point about their being 6 places to access if

you have a DVD and can include that is that often SR won't work from one

access point and will work from another one with the same restore point or

points available.
