can't delete folders with only spaces as name
i read in a computer magazine how you can name files using only spaces.
so i used it to clean my desktop a bit. now i wanted to replace one of the folders on my desktop with a shotcut, but windows simply refuses to start deleting or moving it(nothing happens, not even an error) when i use CMD to delete it i get an error that the filename is invalid. i'm using windows vista home premium - |

renaming falls under the actions not working.
i can do anything around the folders, but the folders themselves can't be changed. "dzomlija" wrote: Quote

Re:can't delete folders with only spaces as name
i actually already rebooted a few times. eventually i managed to remove the folders. i set a folder "C:\testdesktop" to be my desktop, and let windows move all contents of my desktop to that folder. i then set my desktop to it's default position in users, but without moving back all files. from there i dragged the testdesktop folder, with the bugged folders inside, into the recycle bin. there i had to press the empty button twice, and after opening recycle bin again the folders where gone.
