Boot your laptop with the Vista DVD and choose repair.

katiewho,
The laptop should have a partition that would allow you some kind of restore. Check your user manual or call the vendor. Carlos "katiewho" wrote: QuoteI didn't get a dvd it's on my hd and I'm having trouble getting to it. |

Re:Vista will not boot
Right after you hit the power on button, start tapping F8.
It should then give you a list of options that you can go into. (Safe Mode, etc) Use the UP and DOWN arrows to get where you want to go, hit ENTER "katiewho" wrote: QuoteI have a laptop with Vista OS I want to know how to bypass the boot and get |

Windows Vista, like Windows XP, Windows 2000 and other NT-based Windows versions before it, is not built on MS-DOS and has no underlying DOS beneath it to boot to. The only way to boot to MS-DOS is by booting from a DOS diskette. And if your drive is NTFS, the hard drive would then be inaccessible (unless you also loaded special software like NTFSDOS). You could try a repair installation from the Vista DVD. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User Please Reply to the Newsgroup - |

Thanks Carlos, I know there is a partition I just didn't know how to get to
it. I'm going to try as soon as I get home. Thanks for the help! "Carlos" wrote: Quotekatiewho, |
