Windows Vista >> Recycle bin error/bug? Okay when I drag an item to the recycle bin the graphic from empty to full
doesn't update, nor does it update when i refresh the desktop.

If I right click the recycle bin to empty it as I usually do knowing there
is something inside it, the option is greyed out.

Instead I currently have to open the recycle bin everytime just to delete an
item.

This picture may help with what I'm trying to say

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c367/omegajudgement/recyclebinerror.png

1. Item before being deleted
2. Item being dragged over recycle bin
3. Item in recycle bin while the graphic not changed
4. Right click to empty greyed out
5. Refresh page
6. Still not updated, greyed out option to empty
7. Open recycle bin and item is shown inside, missing the recycle bin due to
shoddy crop but the graphic updates to full when I open it.

How do I change it so it goes back to the way it once was?

Windows Vista15

Windows Vista >> Recycle bin error/bug? Right click the Desktop > click Personalize > under 'Tasks' > click Change
desktop icons > uncheck 'Recycle Bin' then recheck it > click OK.

Windows Vista >> Recycle bin error/bug? Unfortunatly that did not seem to work, nor did changing the recycle bin icon
to something else then back again (not mentioned in your post but I thought
I'd try anyway).

Windows Vista >> Recycle bin error/bug? When I installed my Dell XPS desktop, the recycle bin - when it had something
in it the icon showed it being full and after I deleted the contents the icon
showed it was empty. I lost the desktop icon somehow and followed the
suggested instructions to restore it. It placed the recycle bin back on the
desktop. However, I cannot get the icon to show full or empty like it used
to do. How can I get this restored too?
