Windows Aero scheme not available
Windows Vista19
I have been using Windows Vista Ultimate x64 on this machine for about 4 months with no problems. Last week I had a crash that led me to clean install it all over again. Now I just see that Windows Aero scheme is gone. It doesn't appear on the list under Apearence Settings. I noticed that going to Performance Information and Tools gives me a rate of 1.0 (which I think is untrue, my hardware specs are below). I tried reinstalling my graphic card and sound cards with no success. Even tried that registry tweak (set HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\Composition = 1 and HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\Composition Policy = 2) with no results. I noticed this 1.0 rate is determined by Gaming Graphics (1.0) followed by Graphics (1.9) which I believe is too low for the hardware I have. After Update My Score, I click on View And Print Details and I notice that windows hasn't detected Total Available Graphic Memory nor Dedicated Graphics Memory nor Shared System Memory. BIOS gives me 3 graphic memory sharing options: 64mb, 128mb and 256mb. Tried the three of them. Again, before I had to reinstall Windows Vista, it was running perfectly on the very same machine. Any help will be apreciated. Hardware Specs: Intel Core2 Duo 1.87 Ghz 2gb RAM DDR2 666 (currently sharing 256mb with video) Intel(R) 946GZ Express Chipset Family 300 Gb IDE HardDrive partitioned (20+ gb free disk space on Vista partition) - |
