Startup Error in Vista: "explorer.exe"

Windows Vista29
Don't let the title freak you out. I could hardly send this without Explorer

working.

Scenario:

- I restart my computer.

- I see that a lone Explorer window pops up, but no trace of the taskbar or

the desktop.

- I close the window, after waiting to see if it does something.

- "Three Brothers Combination" (CTRL+ALT+DEL).

- Run "explorer.exe".

- The taskbar, desktop, Sidebar and other goodies pop up out of nowhere.

Any fix? I thought of putting "explorer.exe" in Scheduled Tasks as process

(if there is such an option), but I didn't study the "side effects" of this.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Does anybody know a fix?

Do you have the same problem when you boot into safe mode? Is UAC disabled

on the system?
