Complet PC Bqackup cannot find backup devices
Windows Vista24
When I select Windows complete PC backup it just keeps looking for backup devices. I have a WD external USB drive attached. When I selct file backup it quickly finds the drive but not when I try the complete PC backup. The external drive is empty and has been reformatted NTFS. Any suggestions? - |

In Device manager, the Properties of the drive, set the option for 'write
caching' on the "Policies" tab. Be Sure to use 'Safely Remove Hardware" when disconnecting this drive. -- Was this helpful? Then click the Ratings button. Thanks Mark, but your suggestion did not fix the problem. No change was
noticed. "Mark L. Ferguson" wrote: QuoteIn Device manager, the Properties of the drive, set the option for 'write |

Re:Complet PC Bqackup cannot find backup devices
No doubt, this is some problem with recognizing the ownership of the drive.
I would copy some file on there, and 'take ownership' to see if that helped. My second drive as backup has no problem with complete PC backup. I am thinking it's a problem with 'disk type', but since my 'firefly' flash drive is recognized by backup, I'm not sure it's a USB issue (the most often complained item on this whole board) My guess would be it's some driver problem. I would use device manager to uninstall, then 'scan for hardware changes' on all that stuff. -- Was this helpful? Then click the Ratings button.
