Transferring spreadsheet from XP to Vista

Windows Vista3
I tried to transfer a spread sheet from my old Dell with Xp tomy new Dell

with Vista(microsoft works). When I try to open up the spreadsheet it says

that path does not exist(tries to open inworks 6.0 xlr. Could it be that I

cannot transfer to Vista? Or is there something that I am doing wrong?

Re:Transferring spreadsheet from XP to Vista

Your new Dell probably has Works 8. It probably has to open the file from

the File menu item for Works 6 files.

As long as you are using compatible versions of works you should be able to

open them up. I routinely open excel/word files that are on my XP machine

with vista. And vice versa. Both machines have office 2003 installed.

When you try and open the file on the other machine, browse to the other

machine instead of relying on an entry in the file screen. It sounds like

the location of the file has changed from the last time you opened it.

Re:Transferring spreadsheet from XP to Vista

Did you use Marks suggestion and open a blank sreadsheer in Works then

import the old spreadsheet.
