Backup failed (0X80070070) Not enough space on disk.
Windows Vista37
Windows Vista Home premium on a Dell desktop. I've never been able to backup anything on my computer. When I try to backup my files (either to internal disk or to DVD) I get message - backup did not complete successfully. not enough space on disk, and the error code 0X80070070. Also a balloon at bottom right of screen keeps saying "low space on backup disk". Have tried all I know to backup files but to no avail - Help please. PS. My computer isn't jam-packed with data - just a few programmes and maybe 1000 photos - if this helps. - |

hi johno, what type of backup are you trying to do and what backup program are
you using.if you are using windows backup then it will by default try to backup to your partion (if you have one )that holds your recovery disc('d' drive)this usually only has enough space to hold the operating system for recovery so you will have to either make the partion bigger or backup to another location.dvd is a good option but i found that i couldnt use re-writable disc's to make a boot disc or full system backup. in vista hp it is not possible to make a full pc backup only a file backup and you have to do a "full backup "first before you can make file backups if you havn't got enough room on your hard drive to increase your partition the use dvd+r for backup and boot disc (vista will only let you make one boot disc using the backup utility)p.s acronis or nero are much better backup utilities than windows .hope this helps -- martyb "john0" wrote: QuoteWindows Vista Home premium on a Dell desktop. |
