IE browser not connecting to web page

Internet Explorer82
I just bought new laptop. IE browser was working just fine for couple days

now it wont connect me to a web page, though I still have internet

connection. Ive been reading numerous postings about problems with IE 7. How

do I even know if I have IE 7. I considered reseting internet explorer

settings under properties but am concerned about the warning that it would

delete temporary files, disable browsers add ons. Should I take this step any

way as ive only doloaded messenger sites. If I still cant fix this problem

what should I do

Re:IE browser not connecting to web page

Hi,

The reset button is a very useful tool with these two cautions...

It will delete stored (autocomplete) passwords. Do you have those recorded

elsewhere?

It will disable all add-ons. You will then re-enable those one at a time to

see if a troublesome add-on reveals itself.

Re:IE browser not connecting to web page

Well I actually didnt have to do anything, atleast I didnt do anything that I

no of for my IE to acess me to the web again. When I got up this morning it

was working fine. So I don't know what the problem was. But I will keep these

possible solutions in mind incase I should have the problem again. Thanks for

your help Don. Nice to know I can come here to the community and get possible

solutions to computer problems.

Re:IE browser not connecting to web page

Maybe that particular page was down temporarily.

Re:IE browser not connecting to web page

Hi,

Glad things fixed themselves for you. Powering down the modem and router (if

applicable) and restarting the computer are good first steps to take in

cases like this, if it happens again.
