Internet Explorer / IE >> IE6 crash when closing Acrobat reader

Now that I have dumped IE7 and gone back to IE6, I am reminded of
the problem I have had since the last "upgrade" of Acrobat Reader.
Whenever I click on a pdf link and allow Acrobat to open within IE6,
it crashes upon closing IE6. I have tried removing and re-installing
Acrobat with no apparent change in behavior.

I'm not all that enamored with the latest Acrobat reader, but I guess
I should run it for the sake of security. Maybe I'll just have to
remember
to never open pdf inside the browser.

Come to think of it, when I shut down XP (Home), I frequently get a
warning that Acrobat is still "running" (even though there is no visible
indication except when I remember to check the Task List).

I'm ready to put Acrobat on my list of tasks that don't play well with
others along with Quicktime Player and, of course, Real Player.
