disabling the X on the tabs
Internet Explorer47
I need to keep a lot of tabs open while I work. The more tabs, the smaller the tabs are, the easier it is to accidently hit that X on the tab that closes the tab and tanks my work. I want to get rid of the X's on the tabs. I do not need them, they are redundant, and a nuisance. Pleeeeease tell me there is a way to banish those nasty X's. I am using Explorer 7, of course. -- Skydiva - |

Re:disabling the X on the tabs
Hi Skydiva,
No, there is no setting to hide the tab close buttons, If you right-click on the tab leaf (on the favorite icon) you will get a context menu which includes an option to close the current tab, You can also increase horizontal space on the navigation bar, to display wider tab leafs, by double clicking on the "|" character (called the gripper) of the Command Bar (found to the right of the last tab leaf). this will shrink the Command bar and give you more space to view the tabs. Re:disabling the X on the tabs
In case anyone else tries this, you may have to go into the Tools -->Toolbars
and uncheck Lock Toolbar to see the gripper mentioned. It does make the tabs a little wider, which may help. I appreciate the quick response! It would still be great if I could get rid of that X. Maybe that option could be considered by the Explorer 7 team. -- Skydiva "Skydiva" wrote: QuoteI need to keep a lot of tabs open while I work. The more tabs, the smaller |
