Internet Explorer / IE >> HP Photo & Imaging Director made compatible with IE7beta3-ScanJet

HP Support offered me a fix today they say will make my Scanjet 2400
compatible with IE 7. The HP Photo and Imaging Director would not open with
IE 7 beta 3. I was directed to a download site:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software7/COL11004/sj-32585-2/COL11004.exe

This is an exe which installs the ScanJet G3010 Photo Scanner.

I installed it and verified that my ScanJet 2400 Photo & Imaging Director
still opens.

I reinstalled IE7 beta3 and then verified that my ScanJet 2400 Photo &
Imaging
Director still opens.

Problem solved--I hope it remains fixed when IE7 final is released next week.

Internet Explorer / IE >> HP Photo & Imaging Director made compatible with IE7beta3-ScanJet I've just had the same problem with the production version of IE7. I had an
online chat with HP and it seems that they do not yet have a fix, but claim
that it should be along 'shortly'. I'm not convinced...

Internet Explorer / IE >> HP Photo & Imaging Director made compatible with IE7beta3-ScanJet I contacted HP (in France) for the same problems with my Scanjet 3970.
They did not offer a solution but said it to be a problem for Microsoft. I
am not accord.
Will your download work with SJ3970 ?

Thanks for your answer

John

Internet Explorer / IE >> HP Photo & Imaging Director made compatible with IE7beta3-ScanJet What's up is that we were told HP would provide a fix 'soon'. But who knows
when they consider soon, as it was 3mos. since I was told that.
See MVP Sandi's site for a possible fix for the HP Director
http://msmvps.com/blogs/spywaresucks/archive/2006/10/22/197647.aspx
where a workaround I am using ( I created the script part) has been posted.

Internet Explorer / IE >> HP Photo & Imaging Director made compatible with IE7beta3-ScanJet Thanks C+C Mom for the bypass info but I uninstalled back to IE6 already and
use Firefox 2 close to 90 percent of the time anyway. I'm really wondering
who responcible for this kind of thing? HP or Microsoft? If I'm sucessfully
using an app and a new download messes it up ....I general loose the
downloaded app till I'm sure I can use it safely. I have to say though the
new version , IE7, looked good for the short period of time I used it!
