IE7 and Flash

Internet Explorer83
6 days ago for some unknown reason, web sites with flash won't show it and

what comes up is the Quicktime logo. When I checked plug ins, Adobe Flash

was not listed. Amazingly IE works with flash content only if Quicktime is

uninstalled. If you install Quicktime the Quicktime will work then Flash

won't.

Went through all the recommendations several times on Adobes site,

uninstall, re-install etc. etc. and still doesn't work in IE but works in the

other browsers (Opera, Safari, SeaMonkey and FireFox) with Quicktime not

installed. Even uninstalled IE7 back to IE6 with not better results and

re-installed IE7 with same results.

Adobe even at one time on some screen told me flash was installed, I've been

so many places on the Adobe site I'm going blind and I've been at this for

days trying to get it to work once again.

There are tons of posts everywhere about this issue with IE7 and flash

recently and I've even tried some of those fixes with no results.

Help!

Re:IE7 and Flash

Hi,

Open QuickTime. Go to Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Media Types, uncheck

"Enable playback of Adobe Flash tracks." An update for QT may have made this

choice for you. ;-)

If Flash still doesn't work see the post by Bill Castner in this thread

Hope this helps,

Re:IE7 and Flash

Don;

That didn't work. re-installed Quicktime and made the change, now the flash

doesn't work on web pages.

Will look at the article you referenced.
