IE 7 pages are blurry - no option to change cleartype text

Internet Explorer46
I know the cause for IE 7 displaying pages blurry. But I do not have the

option to change it to cleartype text as I have only got the Security tab in

my Internet Properites window (Tools>Options). The same thing if I go to

Internet Properites via the Control Panel.

Use this tuner:

www.microsoft.com/typography/cleartype/tuner/tune.aspx" >www.microsoft.com/typography/cleartype/tuner/tune.aspx

Re:IE 7 pages are blurry - no option to change cleartype text

Windows version?

Are you saying that Tools>Internet Options only displays one (1) tab,

named Security?

Yes there is only 1 tab named Security. Any ideas how to fix it?

Re:IE 7 pages are blurry - no option to change cleartype text

You're welcome

To fix IE6,

support.microsoft.com/kb/318378" >support.microsoft.com/kb/318378

And next time you're looking for Clear Type, Right click an empty spot on

your desktop and click on Properties

Click on Appearance Tab

Click on Effects Button

Check the box next to Use The Following Method to Smooth Edges of Screen Fonts

In the dropdown menu, select Clear Type

Click OK twice

To keep track of things, it helps immensely if you include all of previous

message(s) in your replies to the newsgroup. Thank you.

You may have a horked install of IE7. I suggest that you...

1. Uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6) per

www.ie-vista.com/kbase2.html" >www.ie-vista.com/kbase2.html

2. Uninstall all toolbars

3. Reinstall IE7 per www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html," >www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html,

and using www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/default.mspx" >www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/default.mspx as the

installation source, not Automatic/Windows Update.
