Internet Explorer / IE >> IE7 (non-beta) & Language Bar

I've gone as far as removing the final release of IE7 from my laptop and the
language bar still adds itself to my taskbar after rebooting.

Windows XP Pro, SP2, fully current with Critical Updates, IE 6.0.2900.2100,
Office 2003 SP2 and all current Critical Updates.

I've searched this forum and found several posts with no response of a
solution. I figured I'd start a new one to get this on Page 1 for all the
other people having the same exact issue.

Internet Explorer / IE >> IE7 (non-beta) & Language Bar The fix can be found in the following thread:
Subject: Language bar always shown after boot 8/27/2006 10:32

Here's the instructions I typed up:

Start->Run
Type: control intl.cpl,,1
Click OK
On the Languages tab, click the Details button
On the Text Services and Input Languages window, click Language Bar
Uncheck the box for Show the Language bar on the desktop
OK 3 times out, and done.

Hope this helps!

Internet Explorer / IE >> IE7 (non-beta) & Language Bar Peter (or anyone else),
What about a GRoup Policy/adm fix. This is a bar that is appearing on all
of my users throughout the ie7 deployment is there a killbit I can use.
Because otherwise one just needs to bring the options up (either the way u
said or just straight from the language bar at the bottom) and kill the bar
there (per user per machine blech :-P )

Internet Explorer / IE >> IE7 (non-beta) & Language Bar I'm unsure of any g.p./admin fix unless done on an image level.
Just straight from the language bar on the Task Bar does not work as a reboot
caused ours to reappear.

Only fix I've seen/found yet is the manual change under Regional Settings I
list in this thread.

Internet Explorer / IE >> IE7 (non-beta) & Language Bar OK I found that if I change the lang bar setting on the local administrator
(not the domain admin so per machine) any newly signed on users do not get
the bar (the setting is saved under the default user account to I guess)

I've also started working on an adm (But I've never made one and can't get
it to work. . . yet) can someone help me make it?

I will now post the info I have so far
1st the registry changes made when turning on and off the bar (per regshot
from the NUTS suite) (I've taken out the ones that were blank after made into
a adm file private me if you need the retracted information)
Keys deleted:1

0x00000001
HKEY_USERS\S-1-S-1-{retracted}\Software\Microsoft\CTF\MSUTB\ShowDeskBand:
0x00000000

Here is the resulting ADM from the CTF registry from the current user key
I need some way to define the modified keys above in the adm values below
(showstatus change from 4 to 3 and showdeskbar change 1 to 0) of course it
would be 10,000 times better if either the office or ie7 adm files had in
them the correct information but until then some one please help peter and
myself.
PLEASE NOTE THE BELOW ADM NEITHER WORKS NOR IS IT APPROVED BY MS

-----------------------
problem seemed to be that the language bar adds itself to taskbar after
rebooting, nowhere is a discussion of new users getting language bar in the
message to which I responded.. The solution I offered seemed applicable to
that problem. While it does make for some pretty long messages it seems to
me to be helpful if the complete message stream is included in replies so
that previous recommendations need not be repeated.

Have a great new year.

That looks like registry protection is in effect (or something is later resetting
the relevant value). Try using RegMon to see which value should be reset
and when it is getting changed? For Byron's additional symptom I would be
checking for one more option of that feature being treated the same way.

Good luck
