Internet Explorer / IE >> History List Customization
I want to know how to limit the history list to reflect ONLY web sites
visited. How can I customize what shows up in the list. With the new IE7;
every Photo (.jpg), Word (.doc), Excel (.xls), Powerpoint (.ppt), Access
(.mdb), Publish (.pub) and/or Microsoft Product file you open is listed here.
The Microsoft application files you open are listed in IE even when IE
browser isn't open/running. All I want to see is the history of Web sites
visiited while in my IE browser.
If I can't control or customize what is listed here I'm going back to IE6.
Please let me know what options I have?
Internet Explorer110

That's not really correct. Other files have been showing there since long as
well. I think you can disable it with an option in Tweakui.

I just noticed this, and it seems like a huge security hole! It's bad enough
that there is spyware that can steal a person's browsing history. Now
Microsoft wants to hand them my personal files too! I thought that Vista's
security team was incompetent before--now I wonder if someone over there is
purposely trying to sabotage Microsoft! This is so counter-intuitive--why
would I expect to open my Word files from Internet Explorer? What could the
advantage possibly be? Yet this is the default, and you can't even change it
in Internet options? You have to download a special tool?? Sorry about the
rant--frankly, I feel violated.
